Messages from the Universe

First, Derry is doing fine at the moment, still on the meds. We'll see what happens after he's done those in another couple of days; it might not have been long enough. He's not impressed at my syringing in the bitter stuff, and lets me know his feelings (if looks could kill!), but we have only four more doses to go.   Second, the vet seems to concur that it's a food issue, so I'm going to try the prescription gastrointestinal biome kibble that he recommended. If Derry were four, instead of fourteen, I probably would investigate other food options, since I'm not a fan of high grain/high carb food for obligate carnivores. However, at this stage of his life I'd be happy to find something that he liked and that worked well for him. I'll continue to give him his usual canned, though, because I would be very surprised if that was the issue, and he does need the added moisture in his diet.   Tummy scritches late yesterday afternoon. Anyway, onto messages from ...

Those "cosmic" messages

I was browsing Amazon.ca on the weekend, as I so often do, and came across this art print in the form of a jigsaw puzzle: Archangel Haniel by Steve Roberts I was drawn to the image, kept going back to to it, unable to shake its pull, and ended up ordering the puzzle (very inexpensive). The title of the art piece is Archangel Haniel, the artist is Steve Roberts, and I had to Google to find out who the angel is, as well as the artist. The first site that Google returned told me that she is the angel of Joy (among other things, listed on other sites). You can enlarge to read the snip from the site, if you wish. Boy, she's certainly what my soul needs right now! "Funny" how the universe/god/goddess/spirit can deliver messages--even in a jigsaw puzzle.  :-) His prints are available, in various sizes, from http://www.fantasy-graphic.com/ . Tempting, but even if I could at this time (nope), shipping into Canada no doubt would be cost-prohibitive. Allposters.ca doe...

Sometimes the Universe does "speak"

Yesterday, Good Friday, the next door neighbours buckled themselves into their truck and left around 8AM. I was beside myself with joy, did a happy dance, called Mom in my excitement. I figured they'd be gone for the weekend, back Sunday night. Well, I heard them come home at 11:30PM last night, heard the pounding of their feet through the house. It was very disappointing, but I resigned myself to it, just so grateful I'd had the day of peace and quiet. This morning when I got up I felt really low, very discouraged by it all, by my life in general, by lack of viable options, etc. I was eating breakfast and flipping through my latest issue of "Style at Home" (Canadian decor magazine), my thoughts spiraling downward to very dark places, when I turned the page and saw this: I kid you not. It was an article on Palm Beach-style decor. I have to say, it enabled me to stop the thoughts of hopelessness and of giving up, to put them aside and carry on wit...
