From a blizzard that shut down everything between Oshawa and the Quebec border to plus 7C this morning (December 30th). Below, two days ago (Dec 28) at the bus stop: To this, at 8 AM today:

Happy Boxing Day! We made it through the epic blizzard unscathed, except for a few power blips on the 24th and 25th, and a one-hour outage of our internet/cable/tv. We were extremely lucky, as power was off in numerous areas around us, even in our greater neighbourhood (i.e. not the complex itself). I hope anyone else reading this who went through the storm also remained unscathed and is okay! Below, a couple of snaps from the front bedroom window on Christmas Eve. We've had a lot of bad snowstorms in the 26.5 years I've been living here, but I think this was the worst in terms of duration and winds. Crazy. I know most of North America was impacted, and I truly hope this was, indeed, a "once in a generation" event. Below, Derry on Christmas Day. I had a lovely Christmas Day in spite of the weather. My aunt (Mom's younger sister, who lives with Mom in Halifax now) had suggested that we video chat while opening our presents, so we set up our phones and did just tha...

As of today, we are CLOSED until January 3rd; yippee! Happy dance! 💃 Here are a few more "funnies" from Pinterest, including one that a blogger sent to me as well. The Rudolph one, below, was sent to me by a blogger. I admit I had to look at it three times before I got it...but in my defense, it was 4:30 AM at the time, when I first woke up and checked email. :-D For any "Star Wars" fans! Have a lovely Christmas, everyone, whether you're retired, on holiday, or working. I'm writing this on the 21st, and with the impending weather "bomb" headed our way, I expect I'll be either be trying to dry out the basement from flooding ( if we haven't lost electricity ) and/or dig out from the subsequent snowfall! Never in a million years did I think Derry would be with me for 15 years, through so many changes and challenges.  We all know that life can turn in an instant, so I don't take our time together for granted. I know it's drawing to a close, as he's elderly in terms of a cat's lifespan and now has some health issues. I've been blessed to share my life with him for this long, and whatever the next year brings, I hope and pray it will be merciful and free of suffering for him. I love you, my Baby Bear, more than any words can express. Happy Gotcha Day! 💖

After another blogger mentioned not getting notification of my posts anymore (because of those Blogger changes quite some time ago), I took a look at the widgets available and saw that there IS one to allow readers to subscribe. Duh, Kim. Screenshots, nothing is clickable in either of them. I've used Feedly for years to follow various blogs, so Blogger's changes haven't ever been an issue for me. (Feedly is available as an app too, of course. No, I'm not being compensated for mentioning them, it's just one of the many ways to follow blogs.) Anyway, I've added the widget to the left sidebar, just below my "profile," as you can see in the screenshots above. I hope it works! If it does not, someone please let me know; thanks. (I'll do at least one post this coming week, so it can be tested!)

I have a mix of "funnies" today, some winter/holiday themes, some cat themed, a few more of a social statement. I'll have an update on Derry (all is fine) below! This (directly below) from a B.C.
