Musings on a Small Life

This cutie, who wouldn't pose nicely, was visiting with my adjoining neighbour and her two indoor cats this morning, as I headed out to grab a latté. Very friendly fellow!     Apparently he comes to visit the neighbour's cats quite often. (Through the screen on their patio door.)   As for my fence, this is as far as we are right now:     There were some unexpected challenges in digging down the two and a half feet needed, but after two days of back-breaking work, they managed. So the support posts were put in yesterday (in concrete) and left to cure/harden. The guys are supposed to be back later this morning (fingers crossed, as rain is pending) and I hope it won't be much longer before they get some panels up. I'm looking forward to having a bit of privacy again! (I'm sticking with the legal 7ft height limit, but I wish I had gone with 8ft instead. However, if anyone would get caught and fined, it would be Ms. Goody Two Shoes here, so legal limit it is.)  ...

 Work started this morning on the fence. It's like living in a fish bowl. 🐠😁 I will be keeping my curtains firmly shut when they're done today!

Just a few floral pics and "funnies" to give you a smile today.   There's really nothing new, other than I've now got a company to replace my entire rotting fence, as well as the back steps, plus come back later this summer to stain it all (because I know I will not do it myself). No start date yet, but I'm in their queue. Bonus: The fellow doesn't even want any money upfront, he said I looked like a good/decent person and he trusted me to pay it. (He's right, but still, that's awesome, as most companies want at least the cost of materials before work starts.)   I will lose most of my garden, but sacrifices must be made. I'm more concerned about damage to my adjoining neighbour's garden, as well as to the Bell fibre optic cables which lie partially exposed behind my fence, plus the various (unknown) cables that run under my own garden.    I will take pics during and after, of course!    Random floral pics (NOT from my garden):     A few funnies...
