Happy Friday! (Click the images if you need to enlarge them.) Below: A life truth!

Kitty "visits"

Image
(See my February 21, 2023 and April 24, 2023 posts for reference.) Yesterday at lunchtime I walked to a nearby grocery store to pick up a few things. I was musing along the way that perhaps I've been hallucinating the motion sensor light turning on, or that I'm losing my grip on reality--even though I know in my heart that's not the case. Then I was wondering who had visited me Sunday night--was it Derry? Annie? Someone else? As I was crossing the parking lot, heading into the store, I saw this: The Universe couldn't possibly be clearer. It's so magical and wondrous that it's spooky. LOL. 💖

Monday Mancat Memories

The last post for this month is of the last pics from April 2008, another tussling session. These two sure knew how to wrassle! I must have about 40 pics in this series, all blurry and over-exposed. LOL. It was about 50-50 as who would start these tussles, Nicki or Derry, and most of the time it was all in fun. Sometimes Nicki would get over-stimulated and things would take a turn, at which point I'd break it up. But for the most part it was just the boys doing what they did best. ♥ **** I had another "visit" last night, just after midnight. After the previous/first one that scared the beejeepers out of me, I kept my motion sensor turned off. Saturday night I put it up higher, where it would be activated only by someone moving up/down the stairs (not just passing by in the downstairs hall). Well, the light was activated around 12:15 AM! It didn't freak me out this time, though, I just called out to Derry (or Annie or whoever) and said I was okay, thanks for checking i...

Hint (below) if you need it, it refers to a song by "America." (I always really liked the song, btw!) Enjoy your Friday and weekend. :-)

Monday Mancat Memories with Bonus Annie

Image
Once again, these pics are from April 2008. I'm including angel Annie because I loved her expression here. I have a note with the pics that the boys were inside at the time, presumably up to shenanigans given that whatever they were doing caught Annie's attention. Both boys, below, enjoying the empty plant pot; shades of Eric and Flynn .   Finally, all three on the doorstep, though Annie isn't easily visible (she's below Nicki on the right). Have a good week, everyone.

A few that I hope I haven't posted before.

Wildlife Wednesday

Image
On Sunday morning I headed down to Trailhead Place and Lake Ontario Park for a long walk along the waterfront paths. It was a gold mine of wildlife! There were so many mergansers, though I'm posting only these two. A few geese also, but not as many as I thought there would be. I guess they're hanging out elsewhere. But I got lucky and spied this fox on the other side of a little cove! She(?) was going back and forth to what I assumed to be her den, so perhaps she was out hunting. (Is it too early for pups?) I was at full zoom (40x) with my little point and shoot, so she was quite a distance from me. This was the best of the pics I had snapped. (She's a bit clearer if you click and enlarge the pic.) There was a lone swan; I hope he finds a mate. I had to Google for the type of duck, below. I think they're long-tailed ducks; you can see those long tails in the second pic below. There were a few "regular" ducks too, though not as many as I was expecting to see. N...

Monday Mancat Memories

Image
Still from April 2008, the boys were enjoying the slowly-warming back space. The first two are of Derry, then Nicki, then both boys (ships passing in the night), and finally Nicki chewing on a perennial he shouldn't have been eating. Most of the mancat memories will be from the garden, since they spent so much time out there. 🌱 ****** I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend. I did the best I could with the holiday, took myself out for a long waterfront walk on Sunday morning and enjoyed seeing mergansers, geese, long-tailed ducks, a fox, "regular" ducks, a swan, and lots of snowdrops and crocuses. I will post a few pics on another day. Peace.
