Wildlife Wednesday
On Sunday morning I headed down to Trailhead Place and Lake Ontario Park for a long walk along the waterfront paths. It was a gold mine of wildlife!
There were so many mergansers, though I'm posting only these two.
A few geese also, but not as many as I thought there would be. I guess they're hanging out elsewhere.
But I got lucky and spied this fox on the other side of a little cove! She(?) was going back and forth to what I assumed to be her den, so perhaps she was out hunting. (Is it too early for pups?) I was at full zoom (40x) with my little point and shoot, so she was quite a distance from me. This was the best of the pics I had snapped. (She's a bit clearer if you click and enlarge the pic.)
Other pics from the walk:
I headed toward downtown after that, snapping lots of pics of the snowdrops and crocuses. Finally spring has arrived!
One final pic, of a pretty girl napping in a comfy basket in a window. She certainly had the perfect spot for a snooze.
It was a lovely walk and good for my soul. There's nothing quite like nature and fresh air for therapy.

The flowers are glorious the wildlife WOW and such a pretty waterfront. Happy Spring Canada
As for the Canada geese....MOL MOL....they are here. Evidently all applied for a work visa and it was approved. I 100% agree a walk is good for your mind body and soul...and you have such a lovely area

That no doubt was a most heavenly walk. It is far more than nature and fresh air—it is the view of NEW LIFE!
Spring therefore is the most wonderful season of all. Our Eastern Phoebe are out in the front porch—parents are feeding them already and we're so thrilled that we left their nest intact. Read that they do return to their nest...
Even if the guy doing the pressure wash cleaning frowned upon my gesture for NOT touching the nest.
No doubt that fox was going to the den. In the northern hemisphere the highest concentration is being born in March!
You got so lucky and by enlarging it the snout become so visible and eyes look like being shut—basking in the sun while foraging for her cubs.
There is quite a variety of water fowl.
And then those gorgeous spring flowers! Love the snow drops.
Oh, that kitty sure had a first class spot for basking in the sun.
But it does our heart good to see also 'others' dote on their fur babies.
Big hugs,
Mariette
Isn't it amazing how much wildlife there is in the city? Most people don't see it - it's a treat to take the time to enjoy nature.
Love a furry lady on the last photo. She is so cute.
Have a great weekend
I was shocked and my heart is broken to know the news of your mom and sweet Derry in early of this year. Wishing you the courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to hold in your heart forever. Hugs to you
