Friday Funnies

Image
Happy Friday, all. We have a bonus day off today in advance of the Canada Day holiday on the 1st, and I've taken the rest of the week off too, back to work on the 8th. It's only 10 days, but I'm glad for the break! Take care and to those in Canada, have a fabulous holiday weekend! 🇨🇦

Wordless Wednesday at the Cat Café

Yesterday at lunchtime. It was the same thing the day before only it was supper. 😁 Don't feel sorry for George, that was his second round of mooching from me.

Friday Friends

I popped out for groceries at lunchtime on Wednesday and came home to this:       George had been hanging around all morning (he already had a can of Fancy Feast and far too many Greenies for his own good). The grey/white one with the mouth issue has been around a couple of times before. He's neutered, very friendly, not nearly as food motivated as George. Both are tolerant and respectful of each other, even when food is involved. I gave both of them Greenies, then got a can of FF for the grey/white one (more Greenies for George). George ate his treats then sat and watched while the grey/white one ate his fill, then polished off the remains. (Honestly, I don't know how George doesn't weigh 20 pounds.) Apparently word is getting out that the human who lives in a certain unit is a sucker, big time !

(Mostly) Wordless Wednesday

This dog, Apollo, was having a great time at Lake Ontario Park on Sunday morning. Apparently she (yes, she ) LOVES rocks and was barking up a storm, digging them up, then rolling all over them. It was hilarious! Pics snapped with permission.     Ah, if only we all found such simple things entertaining.  :-)

Mancat Monday with George and Nip

Image
I had a couple of new catnip toys tucked away and I dug one out last Thursday evening just to see if George would enjoy it. He did, at least for a few minutes! I think he's more treat-motivated than nip-motivated, but I'll pick up a package of organic nip the next time I'm in a local pet supplies shop getting his Greenies. Happy Monday!

In a lull...sort of

The installer, who is doing extra work for me, was here last Thursday evening and then Friday afternoon to do the entryway flooring (same as the kitchen). It looks good, though I still have the floor covered in tarps, as my hall closet needs the bi-fold door put on and the basement door replaced (pending). I was cross about the extra dings in the walls that needed to be patched afterward, though! He's very hard on the drywall!   Below, George (a neighbour's cat for those who might be new to the blog) doesn't care about the renos, he just wants his Fancy Feast and Greenies.     The installer has a full schedule this week, so I'm not expecting him out to finish the downstairs. I hope he'll be able to get things done before the end of the month, though! In the meantime, I've been continuing the painting. What else would I do with my Sundays? 🙄   This past weekend I ended up painting the lower hallway, which wasn't in my "plan." But because I'd ha...

Done. Done like dinner.

The kitchen was finished yesterday (Monday June 3), the grouting being the last thing. We are done. Done like dinner. Done, done, done . That's not all the work, of course, though the electrical is now finished too. But this BIG reno is DONE. I would do a couple of things differently, if I had it to do all over again, but even so, I'm pleased.  If you need a reminder as to what I started with, and lived with for 20+ years, here it is: There's no contest, IMO. And no, the "winner" isn't the original.  😁 Thank you, Mom. Love you, miss you, wish you could see it.  ❤️

Happy Mancat Monday with the Mooch!

George this morning, on his SECOND visit for treats. 😸     Right now I have three electrical guys here and the tiling/installer fellow doing the grouting. It's kind of hard to focus on work at the moment! I spent almost a solid 11 hours yesterday (Sunday) patching, sanding, painting, painting and painting, but I finished the living room and did two coats in the hall closet too. I reclaimed my couch at last (!) and even got the curtain panels and sheers up (double rod in the living room). That took FOREVER, as I had to fiddle, fiddle and fiddle again, up and down, up and down, up and down on the step ladder.    Pic from Friday... So close !    Have a calm day, everyone! (I'm scattered and "crazy" enough right now!)
