Monday Mancat Memories

Image
The final pics from May 2008, including a few neighbourhood and store cats I encountered that month. Below: Nicki hard at work making biscuits. Below: Derry romping around the garden. Below: Beside a nearby parked car in our complex. That's not a "I love the camera" look! Below: I think this was a store cat at one of the pet food/supply chains. Below: This was Sassy, who lived on a nearby street. I remember that she would go walking with her human "mom" and their dog. Thanks for sharing the memories with me! Note: I'm travelling west this week, have some posts scheduled. Take care, all.

Have a terrific day and weekend!

It's a holiday Monday here in Canada (Victoria Day weekend) and I forgot about scheduling a post in advance. Nonetheless, here are a few more pics, still from May 2008: Below: Nicki's probably watching a bug crawl along. Below: When Derry was young, he loved hanging out in that spot until the hosta got too big and covered the stone. Maybe he liked the feel of the dirt on (and in) his fur.  :-D Below: Bonus Annie snapshot, a moment without interference from Nicki. Below: The boys check in, briefly. Probably eyeing each other to see if they want to tussle again. (Looking at the mulch makes me think that maybe I should get some this year, it's been a few years since I've bothered.) Have a great day, everyone.

From May 2008, the first outdoor tussle I have pics of. The pic quality is poor, but it's still fun (at least for me!) to see them. I miss their tussles! (Note: Derry typically went right to his back when tussling, no modesty for him, no strategically placed leaf graphics from me. LOL.) They both took a break at that point; Nicki in particular seemed to need a few minutes of rest. Derry, however, was ready for round two, and tried to instigate that, below. It was short-lived...for the moment. They tussled hard again shortly after I snapped these! Thanks for stopping by and sharing the memories. :-)

Below: This is true. I don't even own an iron or ironing board anymore. Have a good day and weekend!

Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thanking Ann of Zoolatry for the beautiful memorial graphics she had made of my mom, at my request. (I had asked for one, but got three lovely images!) Mom's favourite colours were shades of blue, and Ann's graphics are perfect, complete with forget-me-nots. Thank you, Ann . I know Mom would love them. Unexpectedly, she also sent me new memorial graphics for angels Chumley, Annie, and Nicki, as well as a blog-sized version of Derry's recent one. You will find those, along with the first one of Mom, on my " In Memory " page (link on a tab next to the Home page). You will also see memorial images on my sidebar, though you might have to reduce your browser to about 80% to see them. (Maybe I need to update my blog template to something that will resize automatically, if Blogger has that option.) Thanks also to you , for stopping by. I hope you have something to be thankful for today, too. P.S. I'm out of town at the moment, so will visit blogs when I...

Still from May 2008. In the first two snapshots, Derry was getting cuddles from my dad, who was visiting from the west coast. Below: Nicki made himself comfy on Dad's jacket. (I do have a hall closet! I don't remember why Dad left his jacket there; probably we were headed out shortly.) Nicki on the prowl out in the garden. Thanks for visiting; have a lovely day.

Below: I couldn't resist this, given that I'll be heading west next month. Have a good weekend!

From May 2008. Nicki starts and ends this flashback, and Derry's pics are the middle three. Derry was 11 months at this point, and finding fun with something fluffy, I can't quite tell what it was. Maybe a cat toy I tossed into the garden. How I miss him!  ðŸ’” Have a great week, everyone.
