Prophetic?

Okay, I don't pay much attention to astrology, not even to read my daily 'scope just for fun. But I happened to check out a site I used to visit more regularly several years ago: http://www.cainer.com/. Took a look at the overview for 2009, because nothing I've ever read before has been accurate. Hence the reason for no longer paying attention to it. (But I'm at the office and on lunch, surfing the web.)

Here's part of what he says:

"All the clouds that loom on your horizon have silver linings but the most enriching ones will be those connected with your relationships. By... your connections in general, with items, situations and people that somehow define "who you are". As you start to question your ongoing involvement in key situations, you'll also see how you can be free from factors that currently take a lot from you yet give little back.

"You have a tendency, for all your bravado and courage, to passively accept scenarios that you ought to reject.....In 2009, you get to make a valuable discovery. This will help you take hold of the tiller of your life and steer your ship away from rocky, stormy waters towards the shores of fertile, receptive lands."

Oh, this is so true! I mean, I know these things are very generalized, but it's rare that anything even remotely strikes a chord with me. This does, though. That final sentence in the first paragraph could be about an on-line support group, of which I'm no longer a member, and also about a "friendship" with someone which has been at a dead end for a long time, with me still hanging on out of misplaced loyalty when there's really nothing to hang onto.

I recently let the support group go, because I was tired of being the only one to put energy into it and yes, tired of receiving no support in return. Rather contrary to the purpose of a "support" group. And I no longer wanted to put my mental and emotional energy into so much negativity. No longer wanted to micro-manage every mood shift or thought I had.

And now I have to face the reality that this "friend" and I have moved on in different directions and no longer have any connection. That's truth, anything else is mere self-deception.

I really believe that you have to learn to let go and accept both change and loss in order to live fully. Otherwise you are hanging on to a person or situation or thing out of unconscious fear. Fear of being alone, fear of being unworthy to be loved or to be successful, fear of many other ego-based "monsters." And how can you be open to new adventures if you are operating from a place of fear? If you are frozen into immobility?
