Just. Don't. Bother.
Unless you're a pro or have innate talent, just don't bother to try and redo your existing cheap decor pieces. Like a large pine mirror, for instance.
Because when you take the tape off, the tape you so carefully applied all the way around to prevent ruining the mirror glass, this is what you get. Around the entire frame. And you've wasted money, but more importantly time, for something you can no longer use.
Be smart and save your money to buy new (or new-to-you) pieces that fit with your current decor.

This was under your current post and the heading piqued my curiosity (more so than scrummy man posing by the waterfall...!!).
Your poor mirror... did that go on the scrapheap and did you get yourself a new one?
:-)
I was so eager to have an "office" space when I moved in this house but being on a budget I went for the cheapest DIY things I could afford. The table and shelving were ok but the little drawer with wheels (the one that fits under the desk?)...Oh. Dear.
It's still here but completely unusable. The front bit of the drawers just comes loose everytime I pull them open. And the bottoms of the drawers sag if I put more than two magazines on them...
LOL!
Take care
