Dad's Visit: Day 6

Not much to blog about for Monday. I had a massive headache, from 2AM onward, that lasted all day and night. It's still hovering in the background this morning; I'm telling it to go away and stop bothering me till Dad's visit is over. I can only guess it was either the sheer stress of highway travel (I still have knots in my neck like you would not believe) or the nitrites (?) in the smoked meat I had for the late lunch on Sunday, or a combination of both.

Anyway.

The day was not a complete write-off. We got the Expedit sofa table put together, and then the four-drawer bureau. That took us a couple of hours, but the three-drawer one should be faster, now that we know how to do it. I've got some rearranging to do upstairs because I think I'll take one of those bureaus for my bedroom, since I don't have one. It'll mean moving the bed, though, if I want to keep the bookcase in the room too. I'll play around with it and see.

After that we popped over to Swiss Chalet for a light lunch (I just had soup...but I had carrot cake for dessert, so really not a "light" lunch after all), then Dad took me home (it's close) so I could lie down while he went back to the new outlet shopping plaza that's just been built. He came back a couple of hours later with a few things from Tommy Hilfigger (spelling?) for himself, and a few small things from Stokes for me. Like knives that are actually sharp. LOL.

That was it, really. A bit of a waste of a lovely day, but I'd gladly have given up the headache in favour of heading out to do something fun.

This morning Nicki goes to the vet to have his anal glands expressed (lucky him), but that's all that's on the agenda. Maybe we can get the other bureau together. Oh, and there's still the ceiling fan I bought almost a year and a half ago to assemble and put up in place of the existing one.

Nice looking sofa table and looks like that's the perfect place for it too. Like the vase of flowers there too. Hugs.
