Dad's Visit: Day 8

I'm trying to remember what we did yesterday....Oh, I had been up at 4AM, went back to bed just as Dad was getting up. Great hostessing, huh? LOL.

Anyway, we ended up going to Rona for a new kitchen faucet. This is Dad's idea, I'd like to state for the record. He wants to replace the old faucet and that's fine...just not while I'm at home to get worked up about it. Ha. So he's going to do that today, while I'm at the office.

Then we went to the new outlet plaza that's nearby, the one Dad shopped at the other day. I found a pair of hiking shoes (SO comfy) at the Reebok/Rockport outlet, and also a pair of walking sneakers. I'd have had two pairs of those hiking shoes if they had them in my size, but they had only the one pair, more's the pity. They have air cushions in the sole and heels and oohh, do they ever feel good. Hope they feel just as good after I've walked in to work one morning. (Not this morning, Dad's driving me...I hope.)

After that I had to go to campus to vote on a particular issue, then we went to Swiss Chalet for a light lunch (Dad said he could eat there every day and that seems to be true), stopped for a few groceries, then came home. We headed back out early in the evening for Thai food for supper. Lots of leftovers there; the meals were huge. I'll take some today, in case the birthday lunch we're supposed to be having for a co-worker has been cancelled or rescheduled.

Then it was bed early for me (per usual), to read for a while. Not long; I'm exhausted from worry about Nicki and Annie and from having someone around 24/7 -- even someone I love dearly. It's difficult, though, when you are accustomed to your solitude and routine. I'm such a dull person, I know it. :-)

So, the office today, but off tomorrow. I had intended to be off Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week, but if it's going to pour rain, I might go in on Monday or Tuesday. Dad leaves on Wednesday, though, and really, I see him only once a year. So I do want to spend as much time with him as possible, if we both can stand it. Ha.
