Dad's Visit: Day 2

Nothing exciting today, no sight-seeing. I woke up 3AM, wide awake, so wasn't that energetic, frankly.

Annie had her vet appointment at 9:20AM and the vet was running about half an hour late. Poor Annie. Not the vet's fault that her first appointment of the day showed up with two additional animals, not planned for. At least that's what I gathered from what the vet assistant or tech or receptionist said. Anyway, I have to wait till tomorrow for the blood work results, hope all is well, though you never know. Annie does need dental now, though, has moderate to severe tartar on her back teeth and has some gum disease. So I'll make the appointment within the next month or so, provided she's healthy otherwise. That'll run me about $450. First time she's needed dental though, and she's about 9 now. So not too bad. And by the way, the vet was actually quite quick with her. She must have the magic touch--she and whoever the vet tech was who helped get the blood. A year and a half ago it was a terrible ordeal, but it wasn't bad at all this year. Think I'll have the same vet look after from now on, if she stays with the clinic.

After that we came back to the house for a very late breakfast (I had already eaten at 5AM, 6AM, 7AM....LOL), then headed out for a few errands. Really, nothing interesting. Though I must say, the renos at Wal-Mart are impressive. They are making it a Wal-Mart "super store," complete with fresh meat, etc. And we checked the TV prices.

Then it was a stop at Loblaws and home. I did crash for an hour, but didn't really sleep soundly. Dad played around on-line for a while, looking at cars on Kijiji (whatever floats your boat!), then we went for a walk around the neighbourhood, only 45 minutes. Dad did steak (bbq) for supper and we had that with salad; that was it.

Not sure what's on the agenda tomorrow, likely more of the same-- running around checking TV prices, maybe checking out the camera store. Next week is looking rainy, for the most part, so if Saturday is sunny we likely will head to the County then. Ottawa on Sunday.

And that's it. Told you it wasn't anything exciting. :-)
