Saturday = Errand Day
Saturday always is errand day, because Sunday bus service is pretty lousy here. And bonus, yesterday was pay day. (Once a month.)
So I caught the 7:15AM bus up to the Evil Empire (a.k.a. Wal-Mart). They have the best prices around for kitty treats, including the relatively new "Hartz Crunch 'n Clean with Denta Shield." Our local "mom and pop" Global Pet Foods sells them for about $4 per package. Wal-Mart sells them for $1.97. Ask me where I get them. (No, don't really, you can figure it out.)
I'm trying to think what else I purchased there....I mean, I spent $87 including taxes. Hmm. Oh, cheap sunglasses. I broke the arm on my existing pair. Found a pair that are polarized--I like the polarized lenses. Bought more thick wool socks, blue this time. It's cold, -22C this morning without any wind, and those wool socks keep my feet toasty. Some vitamins. Very exciting stuff.
Then it was over to PetSmart, but they didn't have the canned food I wanted. I did buy the fur family a new toy, though. I'll be posting pics of the boys playing with it another day, on the Fuzzy Tales blog, but here's a pic to show you. It's just a crinkle pad with some toys attached and catnip inside. I forgot that catnip can make Nicki more aggressive and a bit mean, though. He attacked Annie shortly after I snapped this pic. Well, that's par for the course, since those two are like oil and water anyway.

After that it was more buses to get to Global Pet Foods for the good canned food, and a bit of chat with the husband/owner. When I'm ready to replace the cat condo in the living room, I think I'll order from them, give them the business. And Don said they could give me a bit of a cut on the price, which would be nice. Mind you, I have to get the vet bills paid off first...And really, the cats don't need another condo, I'd just like to get rid of one or two of the older, tired ones. Anyway, that's neither here nor there.
A quick run into the grocery after Global, another bus, and I was home for 11AM. The down side to being without a vehicle is that it takes three times as long to run around and get things done. Of course, the up side to being without a vehicle is the cost savings. And the exercise and fresh air I get.
So that's it. Right now I have Derry on my lap, clogging up the laptop keyboard with fur, and I'm trying to type with one finger. And he's being rather insistent that all my digits be cuddling and petting him.
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend...I'm under orders to stop blogging now. :-)

Awwwww cat treats for the cats!
Yes, I'm all for traipsing that further to get what is essentially the same thing for less - the savings really do help! And especially with the vets bills to contend with too.
Good for you for getting some fresh air and being out and about even if it is cold! It's cold her too (had a sprinkling of snow) but never minus 22 - goodness!
I look forward to seeing more pics of the fur family's new toy.
I like the way you describe Annie and Nicki as oil and water! Oh dear. Derry's in the middle just wanting cuddles! Awww!
Take care
