I need a weekend break from my weekend
Or just a longer weekend. :-)
I really think Derry's mouth should be checked--he's had gingivitis from the get-go, but lately I've seen him make the same "clacking" motion with his jaw when he yawns as Nicki started doing last fall. No issues with chewing, not that I can see. And he doesn't make the motion when I scratch under his chin. But still, after Nicki's two deep pockets of infection and eight extractions back in November, I want to get Derry in sooner than later, particularly if he does need a dental cleaning. I'll call the clinic tomorrow AM and see when I can get him in. Would an antibiotic shot hurt, does anyone know? I don't mean "hurt" as in cause him pain, but "hurt" as in cause any problems even if he doesn't have an infection.
Handyman #1, Gary, called me earlier this afternoon to let me know he had emailed me a quote. He's given me a quote for 27 sheets of the corrugated PVC material, plus nuts and bolts and labour. I asked how he would stabilize it, sticking up above the fence a foot or two, and his response was to play it be ear, see how it goes. So the quote doesn't include any lumber he'd need. I really don't have a great feeling about what he wants to do. He's a nice guy, or seems to be, but handyman #2, Kevin, seems to be able to think more creatively and sensibly. I just don't know (a) what Kevin's quote will be and (b) if Kevin actually would do the job in one day.
Now, if handyman #3 happens to actually get in touch (and I'm not holding my breath), I can tell him the two ideas and see what he says. Or take Kevin's idea and see if someone else can do it.
Will this ever get done? Stay tuned....
Meanwhile, I got out with my camera today, for some much-needed mental therapy. Four years with the camera, taking the same kinds of floral pictures, and still I can't resist. Flowers seem to draw me, like a magnet. So here are a few of the many I snapped today. Oh, except the first, which I snapped a couple of days ago--one of my neighbour's peonies.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend...back to work for me tomorrow!

Good luck!!!! Big purry hugs to you and him.
Methinks Kevin's got the fence vote? Gosh - you really do need a weekend break from your weekend just gone. But it's all progress!!!

As for the fence, I like Kevin's idea better, yes, but whether I'll get him to do it remains to be seen. :-)
Sigh.
Those flowers are gorgeous. I love flowers. They are so pretty and colorful.
