Oh, The Neighbours Must Love Me

5:47AM today and I'm leaving the house to walk to the office.

A few townhouses down, on the corner, are two cats fighting--seriously fighting. The long-ish haired unneutered brown tabby I see around a lot and one of the short-haired grey and white cats I also see from time to time. I suspect neither has a home.

They are so into the fighting, in fact, that my screaming and cursing at the top of my lungs, clapping hands, stomping feet and hissing doesn't even register on them.

I look for something safe to throw at them, but wouldn't you know it, the narrow street is actually without debris for a change.

So I go as close as I dare, still shouting and cursing the effin' people who are too stupid to have their cats neutered, and I'm making so much noise that two people open their doors to see what's going on. And quickly close them again with all my foul language. (For someone who never said "god" except in prayer, until she was 20 years old, I certainly do have a mouth on me now. And the whole organized religion thing is a rant for another post.)

The grey and white cat flees, with the brown tabby hot on its tail and I give up and head to work.

Oh, yeah, I'm really popular with the neighbours.

Those cats need to be trapped, particularly the brown tabby, who is just hellish with his fighting. One of my co-workers does have a trap which she might be willing to lend me, but would I trap Nico, the neighbour's tabby? It's not like I have a private area in which to place the trap. It's all common ground. Maybe I'd get Monty, the Siamese, instead (pic below).

I don't know what to do about this. I'm probably making things worse by attracting them with the food and water I leave out, but I haven't the heart to see them starve.

My god, humans are the stupidest, most ignorant, irresponsible species on the planet. Hands down.

I need to put the kettle on now, have a cup of herbal tea, to calm down. Where's the Valerian when I need it?

Oh, my! That is one big Tom cat! He definitely needs to be neutered! That will help him calm down quite a bit. And I'll bet he;ll smell better, too. Phew.

Oh gosh. What a dilemma! Are you going to attempt to trap the big tabby? He's adorable but he needs to be neutered and found a place to chill! Good luck if you are gonna try! I hope the trap thingy works.

And boo to your neighbours who don't want to know enough to do anything about this!!! Raspberries to them.

I would however love to see you in action! LOL!

Enjoy your cuppa tea!!!

Take care

Our hearts break for all those kitties out there that some stupid hooman has not taken care of.

I understand your dilemma.
I hope that there is a happy ending.

Forget the neighbors, they're probably the problem.

Enjoy that tea.

If you get the cat that doesn't need to be trapped - just let him go and he won't be back in the trap. I have TNR'd neighbors cats myself! One less Tom out there! Worth a try!

That tabby boy needs a snip! Is there a TNR group you could contact locally...that way you could stay one step out of the loop.

If not, go for it...I'll chip in $20 towards the cost.

pee ess: gonna try the oat cake next week !

hear hear to the stupidiest beings on earth! which is so sad since humans could really make a difference and a change if all the stupidity went into clever and caring things instead.

poor cats.
