Healing Vibes Needed for Mom's Husband
Mom's husband, who is 79, fell out of bed early this AM and broke his right hip. Mom just called to tell me; she'd been at the hospital from the wee hours with him, only got home about an hour or so ago. (Mom lives in Halifax, NS, so is not close to me, geographically.)
Harry's had health issues for quite a while now, mostly brought on by the fact that he never was physically active and hasn't done anything to keep his body moving in a very, very long time. It's the old adage of "use it or lose it." He also has cognitive deterioration, though not Alzheimer's.
Anyway, he's as comfortable as possible right now, will see the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. He's on an internal wait-list for surgery, comprised of a list of patients that come in via ER. We don't know when he'll have the surgery, what exactly he needs (pin, replacement), and what kind of rehab he'll need afterward.
Mom has her own health issues (back, leg and foot) and won't be able to care for him by herself, even when he's ready to be released and come home. So it's going to mean some sort of in-home care--or possibly a nursing home. That's down the road, though; first he has to get through surgery and see what's needed for rehab.
So any healing vibes you can send to my mom and her hubby would be much appreciated. Mom's had to deal with a lot in her life, far more than the average person, and she could use some Light. So could Harry, obviously, because I can't imagine the pain. I hope the nurses have given him good drugs!

Mid-2000s, I think.

I will definitely include your Mom and Step Dad in my prayers tonight. All of this must be very difficult for her right now. So scary how quickly a simple thing can turn around and become very complex.
Thanks for sharing these lovely photos of them - they are so obviously in love and very happy together - their eyes and faces just sparkle!
But one thing at a time, one day at a time. Let's hope he gets the surgery required asap first. I have everything crossed that this will be soon.
Prayers and blessings and comfort to your family!
Take care
