Inspiration For the End of the Week

I'm sure he's old news to many, but I'd never heard of him before. What an amazing tenor voice.
And by the way, he was 15 when he competed and won last year.

For inspiration of the Handel's Hallelujah Chorus kind, I'm passing along a link that Cat of Cat's Cats posted on her blog today: A flash Mob at Seaway Mall in Welland, Ontario by the Niagara Chorus at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXh7JR9oKVE
The Hallelujah Chorus is one of my all-time favourite choral pieces, up there with Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th Symphony. (BTW, the "old" movie "Sister Act 2" did a fabulous rendition of Ode to Joy at the end; wish I had that either on DVD or CD!)
And if you want a different take on Handel's Messiah, I highly recommend the CD Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration. It's a significant departure from the traditional and even includes rap. The finale, the Hallelujah Chorus, will blow you away. It's literally impossible for me to sit through that; I have to be up and dancing and clapping and waving my arms. And it must be played at full volume, the shake-the-walls kind.

I think this is a lovely rendition of Hallelujah but if I were in the cafe my ears would have burst! But that's just me being all humbuggy!LOL!

Oh but that boy (and he is a boy - he's all of 15/16!!!) is such a talent! I'm so glad he won the Australian's Got Talent show!!! Yay!!!! Thanks for the clip too!!

This is such a sweet, happy and upbeat post... :)
with the hype surrounding "idol" "got talent" etc it's a least wonderful in the way truly gifted people that didn't have a chance making it for various stupid reasons anywhere else than in show like these get what they deserve.
i always cry over this song, it's powerful.
the australian idol winner stan walker, with fantastic voice, has made a memorable version too
