Who Knew 300 Was the Max?

Who knew 300 was the maximum number of blogs Google will allow you to follow? Now how do I get around that one, without un-following kitties and people? If someone knows, do please leave a comment!

I'm pleased to say that I got the gifts being mailed out all wrapped up on Sunday, no whiskey needed. (All but one, actually.) Mailed them this morning, plus the three items from Derry's auction, to the tune of $71 and change. Don't fall over. The mailing cost of the individual items was reasonable, not more than $15 each, but it was the fuel surcharges or whathaveyou, the HST (harmonized sales tax) and so on. Good thing I do this only once a year.

I'm also pleased to say that another big work project has (I hope) come to a close. I've done what I need to (I hope) and it should be fine (I hope). There's a lot of "hope" -- and crossed fingers  -- here! So things are winding down; hurrah!

Our work luncheon will be on the 10th. One of my co-workers unexpectedly got paid $300 for giving a workshop at an annual conference last month, and since she already was reimbursed for travel expenses, she considers the money as belonging to the department. So we'll use it for lunch at a local Indian restaurant (very good spot to eat, wonderful food), then go to a pub afterward for a beer. None of us is coming back to the office, the boss included. Yippee!

Oh, I might put my little tree up this weekend. It's a slim artificial one, to fit into my small space. About the third or fourth artificial tree I've had in the last 14 years. I'd like to put lights on it, tried last year...but remember that cat electrocution scene from Chevy Chase's "Christmas Vacation?" Nicki was aiming to recreate that, so I took the lights off pronto. Not sure I should try this year. Of course I again will have to tie the tree to the ceiling plant hook, to keep both boys from toppling it over. Ho ho ho, what fun!

It looked pretty sad without lights in 2009...it needs white light this year, if I can find some LED ones. At least I already have more bows for it! Nothing breakable anymore, thanks to the fur companions.

And that's about it. We're due for heavy rain this evening and tomorrow, but if Saturday is decent, I might try picture-taking somewhere. It feels like ages since I've been out. I haven't been motivated and it's been grey and uninteresting, at least to me. I also need to go grocery shopping and cat food/litter shopping. I won't be thrilled to be out on a Saturday as peak holiday shopping approaches, but at least I won't have to go the mall!

I hope everyone is doing well, not getting too crazy with the pressures of the holiday season. Peace and joy and goodwill toward (wo)man? Sometimes that's hard to come by at this time of year, especially in the frenzy of preparations.

Glad I didn't see that horrible scene in that movie. I am still appalled at the people who find hurting pets funny. OK OK I'll chill on that. It's a blog topic for me to post on my own page.

We have a 3 footer that has optic changing lights on its little self. Pretty and the Admiral leaves it alone.

I haven't done anything yet..and won't until like the 20th to the 22nd. Then, I will have a few modest decorations.

SO glad you all of you went out and not a lot of food tastes better to me than Indian. YUM!

Oh I am wracking my meagre brains on how to be able to follow more than 300 blogs (you follow more than 300 blogs?!?!?! WOW!!! ). Anyway - I do so remember reading a writerly blog and she was saying how blogger stopped her when she reached her 301 blog she was following, then someone replied and told her how to get round this but me being me didn't really take it all in!! The short of this ramble is that - yes there is a way!! If only I know!!!! LOL!

Oh wow your christmas outing is gonna be BRILLIANT!!!! Thank you nice colleague!! Yay!!!!!! Our one is on the 13th - MONDAY! and it's after work - so 8pm and we are all expected to turn up for work the next day. Sigh!

Yours is gonna be lovely - enjoy!! And Yay that you're nearly finishing your big project!! Fingers firmly crossed!!

Awww your tree is gorgeous!! It's very tall!! Wow!! I love Father christmas on the top!! LOL!!! Oh I hope you get LED lights - and I hope lovely Nicki looks elsewhere!!

Oh it's three more weekends to the Christmas break and I cannot, cannot wait!! Hooorah!! Oh shopping. People have been going MAD all last week - MAD!!! Good grief!! Good luck!!!!! :-) Take care

We get a real tree and put it up naked for a few days. After the novelty has worn off the cats don't even notice the ornaments but I don't use breakables anymore - I collect ornaments year round at all sorts of places so have lots to choose from. Chica likes to chew o the wires so we cover them in foam or paper rolls from the outlet to the first branch - once in the tree she doesn't care for the wires. Sounds like a lot of work but I would rather have a tree than not. Didn't realize there was a follow limit!

I'd forgotten till reading this that of course it's Archie's first Christmas with tree, decoration, lights, everything. Wonder how we'll get on. Carefully I think.
Thanks so much for your comments on my last post - am feeling very overwhelmed by the enormity of the task at the moment. Just must pause here to say Archie is at this moment unwrapping things I'd wrapped up. Excuse me.....
Aren't rustly bags exciting? Now I've put that away let me continue...

Yes there are care options in the home available for my mum, but Social Services who would be providing them will not allow their staff into the house to help in its present condition - I feel it would be a betrayal to post any pictures but it's very severely bad, if you know of compulsive hoarding, or look it up, you will understand, we're not talking 'normal' clutter here! Still, I've sorted two boxes out so far, keeping most things my mum will be specially attached to. My concern is my boys need a lot of time at the moment with the eldest having important exams soon, and if I stretch myself any more I'll break! I've managed to accept it's not actually my fault that my mum has chosen to live as she has, and I have a responsibility to look after my own family as well, but goodness me it's hard to know what to do first some days! One day at a time, and I know I need a proper day off each week so will do my best to take one, trouble is we only have 6 weeks now I think before the house needs to be ready and I think that's physically and mentally impossible, but I guess we do what we can. My OH is very sensible and will stop me doing too much. And Archie will demand my attention and give me cuddles to make me slow down too! xx

I did not know there was a cut off point of how many Blogs you may follow!

I follow 75 Blogs, I thought that was a lot- looks like it isn't really! oh my!

Do you read all 300 blogs? Spring cleaning perhaps?

Sorry, not much help here.
