"Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad"
A huge thank you to Frankie's "The Lady" (from Frank's Corner) for the link to Christine Kane's song, "Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad."

I absolutely loved it, had never even heard of Christine Kane before, actually. But that song is my anthem, at this middle-aged, long post-divorce time in my life. Oh, it was brilliant. If you haven't heard it, do take a listen.
As for my Good Friday holiday...Got a couple of loads of laundry done, some vacuuming, painted the guest room closet and bulkhead and sanded and primed the bathroom vanity. I hope that "primer" was the right stuff--it was café au lait in colour and like water or stain--not the consistency I am accustomed to for primer. It's pretty toxic too, could feel my lungs burning, so I hope only the one coat is okay.
I'll double check when I'm at Rona tomorrow, make sure that was the correct primer to use, then get a small can of paint. Can't leave the vanity in its current hideous state.
I even made time for a walk, an hour and a half around the neighbourhood with my camera. I got lots of floral pics, of course, but instead of posting any of those right now, I'd like to introduce you to Blackie.

That's the stuff, the B-I-N can on the counter, before I opened it.

Blackie is a 16-year old indoor/outdoor cat who broke his leg two weeks ago. This was his first time outside since his injury and his humans (elderly couple) said he's been frantic to get out, as he's accustomed to coming and going as he pleases. He kept trying to take off, so his "dad" put him back in the house after I got a few snapshots. He's their third cat, they lost two female cats years ago, when they were about 16-17, to kidney failure. Blackie was a drop-off by the mother cat when he was a kitten. They said she dropped him off in their yard and disappeared.
They don't know how Blackie broke his leg, but hope he'll be fine. He'll be their last cat, the woman told me, as she doesn't want to confine a cat to indoor-only living and it's no longer as safe as it used to be to let them roam.
He's not the only cat I saw, I came across this pretty tuxie too:
So it's been a productive day off, though my intent was to curl up and read all afternoon. Didn't quite turn out that way. :-)
Oh, I've switched both blogs over to the new Blogger templates, so if anyone notices something amiss, please do let me know, ASAP. Thanks kindly!
Have a lovely weekend. Alas, my Lindt dark chocolate with cranberry pieces and slivered almonds is all gone.
Universal Blessings and Light to all!

Have a great weekend and enjoy some time to read!
Lucky Blackie, a lot of people would put their cat down, breaking a leg at that age. Here's to a long life for Blackie and owners!
Your day sounds much more productive than mine!
Have a good weekend Kim!

I used the same sort of primer when painting our bathroom - it is supposed to be a moisture barrier... it IS an odd sort of paint though - I know what you mean
