Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off To Rona I Go
So...an update!
Wednesday night after my shower...Yep, I heard dripping downstairs, from the area that would be where the back of my tub is. I do believe Mr. Handyman's thought that water is getting in via the ruined caulking is correct after all. Thursday night I didn't hear any dripping post-shower, but I also hadn't been getting the back of the tub wet from shaving my legs (sorry if that's TMI). I didn't bother to rush down after my shower last night. There is no evidence of any leaking from the tub drain or other pipes that still are exposed from Wednesday's work.
Mr. Handyman is coming Monday after work, so around 4:30-ish, to recaulk the tub for me. If that takes care of the dripping, I'll have him go ahead and redo the drywall in the kitchen, where he cut out for both leaks (see previous post).
As for the guest room closet: I've decided to skip the bi-fold door and just go with a sliding door, this one, in fact:
Plain and simple, and the six panels match the existing six-panel bifold door on the downstairs hall closet. The cost of the sliding door is the same as that of the bifold, and the sliding one means that Mr. Handyman won't have to frame it in, will just have to build a bulkhead.
I have to go back to Rona tomorrow to order a few more things he'll need for that; I've already paid the delivery fee, but can add to the order, since they're delivering only next Saturday. I'm going to decide whether I want to splurge on sliders for the other two closets upstairs (spare room and my bedroom). The closets are larger and I hadn't intended to incur quite that much debt. It's not only the cost of the doors to take into consideration, but also the cost of the materials needed, plus Mr. Handyman's labour charges. He's about half the going rate, so I won't find better, but still, it all adds up. Bulkheads would have to be built for the other two closets as well, so it's not just a matter of taking off the old doors and putting on the new. Then there is the issue of what to do with the old doors, how to dispose of them. Mr. Handyman is not able to, which would mean they'd be in my garage for oh, forever. LOL.
I'll see. I'd like to have all the closet doors replaced, but I'd like a lot of other things too, including the seemingly-impossible-to-attain full bathroom reno.
As for snapshots for the day, I have none that aren't cat-related. But I see that last year, on April 3, 2010, I was out at Lemoine Point again, so here are a few repeats from that jaunt. Our Spring was much earlier last year! We have no such buds on any trees right now, not that I've seen, anyway. Soon...I hope!

Are those pussy willows in the first photo? I don't miss those; I have no allergies except for them...achoo!
I come from a family with no bodily hair (apart from the obvious! LOL!) but I do need (well I don't but I like to!! )to shave off my underarm hair! My sisters on the otherhand don't have to do these (cows!!!) cos they've got smooooooooth underarms! TMI!! Sorry! LOL!!! All this hair talk..!!
Anyway, where were we!?!?! Doors!!! Yay for your handyman!! I'm trying to think what to do with your old doors..!!! Sell them on ebay maybe?!?! You'd be surprised what you can sell on ebay!!!!

I am going to have to find out where a leak is under the toilet I guess. It was taken up and the seal replaced but still I can see evidence of water leakage. Probably mean yet another bathroom floor. Sigh.
