Homemade Hummingbird Feeders?

I spied these lovely blue bottles hanging from this tree yesterday, on a lunch time walk. The first thing I thought was that they were homemade hummingbird feeders, but maybe they're just meant to be decor?

Any ideas?

I hope everyone's day is humming right along. LOL. I'll be humming a cheery tune come 3PM -- quitting time!

I don't see a cord, but maybe someone strung them as lights?? Interesting....
In the south in USA we have bottle trees - bottles are put over the branches upside down - The tradition came from the shores of Africa and other places, where it was believed evil spirits were attracted to, and became trapped in, the bottles at night. As the story goes, the sound of wind whistling around the bottles was believed to be the cries of the captured spirits. In the morning, sunlight on the bottles killed the evil forces.
Maybe they were trying to do this in their own way!

It looks as if there are messages in the bottles.

If it is a fruit tree the idea might be to let the fruit grow in the bottle, remove it once mature and then fill the bottle with liquor. The fruit infuses the booze. Leave it to me to know this. The Martha Stewart of alcoholics.

I vote for Mikey's suggestion! LOL!! Fruit infused booze - fresh from the tree!! Yum!!!!

I think the bottles are definitely there for a reason - wether to collect something, frighten off something else or be a home for some other thing.. it's certainly intriguing! I hope you discover the real reason!

Take care
