So Many "Men" in My Life

All of the feline variety, of course!

I got home to find not only neighbour cat Niko on my step (he lives in his "house" on my step while he spends the springs/summer/fall outside, though he would prefer to be in my house, I think), but also Toby waiting for an early supper. Usually I see him later in the evening and put food out, but today it was a rush to get in the house, feed my boys and feed the outside boys too.

Toby is on his second plate of canned food (2 cans of Fancy Feast for entree #2), while Niko is begging me to let him into my house.
(Niko lives next door. Right next door.)
Toby's not sure about me and definitely not impressed with the camera.
Niko still hisses and growls at Toby, who ignores him. Toby's sole focus is food, though he'll let me pat him a little bit before he takes off.
Nope, not impressed with the camera...and still wary of me.
Toby always looks cranky, but he seems to have a very good disposition. He certainly doesn't show any aggression toward Niko or toward me.
Niko nibbles on leftovers while Toby waits to finish off the plate.
Toby took off after eating, as usual, leaving Niko wanting to come inside. If I could be sure my own Nicki wouldn't pick a fight (and that I wouldn't end up with vet bills), I'd be tempted, especially on cold rainy days like today. Niko really just wants a warm lap and some loving--just not at his own house. Can't say I blame him, either, with the two large, barky, ill-mannered dogs she has.
Sometimes it feels like I give more attention to the outdoor boys than my two, and that everyone wants a piece of me. Even so, I'd much rather deal with the four-legged variety of "men" than the two-legged. LOL.

Universal Blessings and Light to all Beings.

Aw, Niko looks so pathetic! Your two travelin' men are sweet. Toby looks better, I think, still scruffy but filled out a little. He should be all testosteroned out in a week or so, and maybe he'll be less hungry.

I would try letting Nico in and "see" what happens. I am sure it would freak out Nicki and Derry but maybe not. How do they react when they see Nico at the door? Oh Toby he has such a wanting look on his face. He has gorgeous coloring.

Give it a try with a sprayer and a thick blanket handy. You may be surprised. I think Niko would be fine. You know how yours might act... What do you think? Niko is such a sad kitty. He just wants so badly to be a part of your family.
Toby wants to be your kitty too. He' just frightened yet.

Oh it makes me sad that the two boys don't want to go to their real homes. You do a good job of looking after them.

Mom agrees - the four legged kind are sometimes much better. Those outside boys are lucky to have you...it is sad that Nico feels he can't go home. purrs for everyone

It's so nice of you to take care of those two outside cats. Maybe some day you can let that grey one inside. Time ...

Sad that Niko doesn't get the love he needs at his house. Toby looks like such a grumpy old man, in the cutest way, that it is comical. He brings a smile to my face.
