71mm of rain in 4 hours is a lot of rain!

We had a doozy of a deluge yesterday, 71 mm of rain in four hours, apparently over 60mm of that in less than an hour. Which would explain the massive flooding in various parts of the city, especially downtown. Luckily, I escaped with only a bit of water in the basement.

Easily wiped up with a handful of "rag" towels I keep on hand for grungy jobs.

No rain today, thank goodness. Just another trip to Value Village, because I had a 30% off coupon to use by today. So even though I really wasn't in the mood to shop, I found four long-sleeved tops for work, two short-sleeved tops, a pair of drawstring exercise/lounging capris (not in the collage), and a plush blanket originally sold at Indigo (books, magazines, gifts) for far more than the $4.20 I paid. In excellent condition, I might add, didn't even look used.

Derry checked out and gave his approval to the blanket, while Nicki seemed more focused on looking cute to garner cuddles.

It's a holiday weekend for most provinces in Canada, with Monday being an extra day off work. A girlfriend is coming up for the better part of the day, from out of town, so I'm looking forward to that. I think a Wal-Mart run will be in order, since she has a car.  :-)

I hope everyone has a great weekend, whether it's a long one or not.

 Anyone know what this is?

You lucky dog! I wish there was a Value Village in Henderson. The Horde would love that blanket.
Is the first flower a Zinnia?

Great finds - I shop at local thrift and consignment shops - get better deals on pricey things I normally can't afford.

Lovely flowers! Have fun with your girlfriend!

have a lovely weekend!! and isn't it precious how them fluffies always need to paw-approve the new stuff in da house? adorable:)

sorry to hear about such massive pours, you are welcoem to send some rain here actually, i think the nature and garden would do well with a few days of decent rain and cooler weather... touch wood as we don't want it to be too many days of rain though!
That is a lot of rain! You did good shopping. Enjoy the day off, the visit, and WalMart!
