Ewwww, Niko...Gross!

So I was up around 3:40 or so, as usual. Fed the boys and Toby as usual. Left food for Niko too, though Toby tends to eat everything in site.

Then later, just before leaving for work, I opened the door to water the plants and there was Niko on my step, happily chomping away on a mole or mouse (no feathers).

Right by the welcome mat.

Eeeww!

I closed the door in a hurry and left him to his yummy meal.

When I opened the door a few minutes later, he was right there, almost smiling, having left the entrails.

Accck, gross, gross, gross!

I had to go out and clean up the mess, pour water on the step to wash off the blood. Gag. I'm really glad Niko's such a mighty hunter, especially considering he's minus his front claws, but I really wish he'd eat his prey on his own doorstep.

And now I know why he seldom shows much interest in the canned food I put out. He prefers the real thing!

No pic of anything gross, just this sunflower I saw on the way home yesterday. I couldn't do anything about the background of houses, so just used Picasa's soft focus on the snapshot. Trust me, much more attractive than rodent entrails. LOL.

Universal Blessings and Light to All Beings.

Awww beautiful Niko feels safest and happiest eating on your welcome mat than in his so called home! Ahem. No offence to his humans. Truly!

:-)

I've always liked sunflowers better than gifts on the doorstep. Just me I guess.

Nothing like the smell of fresh guts in the morning...or is that cordite?

Back in Illinois we had a declawed boy who brought us voles, etc every morning without fail! Mister Max was quite a hunter.

I'm thinking of you tomorrow--

He was trying to share his good meal with you.

::::hehehehe::::

He just likes his meals fresh! Real fresh.

It does sound like he is taking care of any rodent problem you may have!

Whew!! i was so afraid I was gonna see blood and guts and am soooo relieved to see such a beautiful flower!
I like the sunflower much better, yes! I used to have a big, big, black tom I named BC (Black Cat). He loved to go out hunting and bring me his prizes back. One morning he jumped up on my bed and I thought rubbed noses. But when I opened my eyes, it was a dead and chewed up frog in his mouth!

EEEEEeeeeewwwwww! I felt bad later though, he acted so disappointed I'd not just loved his prize.
