And then there are days like this...
WARNING: Serious "eeewwwww" gross factor to follow, so don't read further if your stomach easily is turned.

Yes, folks, and then there are days like this--which is more the "this" that comes to mind, rather than the positive "this" in Van Morrison's song.
Days when you take your leak- and odour-proof compost bag to the compost bin in the garage, only to discover it's totally covered inside and partly outside with maggot eggs and maggots. And where cleaning it all out after work is in the top three most disgusting things you've ever had to do.
Days when your favourite corner store (Mola Mola, the little shop that carries the neat Fair Trade and Global Mamas goods) is closed due to construction right outside the door and you can't get any dark chocolate. Aggghhh!
Days when the neighbour's cat barfs up the bit of canned food you put out for him, so you have to wash off your front step. (Thanks, Niko.)
Days when the remaining bit of potato salad you had made late last week is "off," but because you can't smell you eat it (quickly) for supper...only to realize after the fact that it's left a rather peculiar taste in your mouth. And you hope like hell it's not so "off" that it's going to make you ill.
Oh yeah, there are days like this.
I really hope you're not having one.
Snapped this robin with "lunch" at the beginning of the month. I don't want to know what s/he has in its beak. The snapshot just seemed to fit with today's theme, though. LOL.
Universal Blessings and Light to All Beings.

*sigh*
Gross is gross is gross and cleaning it up is no fun. Nope maggots is no fun. Cat barf is something I am so accustomed to it doesn't phase me, now I understand why new Mothers aren't phased by any bodily function too.

Beautiful header. I just bought some of the butterfly weed (asclepias curassavica 'silky deep red') that the butterfly is resting on. Got it on sale thinking that it was a perennial but found that is really an annual. But supposedly it reseeds so maybe I will get some babies for next year out of it.
My grand daughter and I have had a long standing (since she was 3) competition for telling yucky/gross stories. I will have to share your day with her. I will spare you the story of Frankie with a glittery string trailing out of you know where....
