"It was a dark and stormy night"

I remember that Peanuts cartoon, with Snoopy sitting on top of his dog house, typing that line.  :-)

But it was a dark and stormy night! Holy! Catfish! We had the wildest line of storms roll through our area from about midnight till 4AM or so. Woke me up, and after I had closed all the windows (lightning just forking across the sky, endlessly), I went back to bed and wondered if I actually should be in the basement for safety. Neither cat was phased--they never are. I'm the one who freaks at these wild storms.

I didn't think Toby would be around when I got up--far too wet for him to venture out. But Niko was on my step, definitely wet, poor boy, so I put food out and got a towel to dry him off. He got some scritches for a change, because he doesn't like Toby and so doesn't hang out on my step when Toby's around.

However, by the time I was ready to leave for work, Toby was there--perfectly dry, I might add, so he certainly had shelter somewhere--and had eaten the canned I left. So I put more out, which he ate. So perhaps I was being unduly paranoid where he's concerned--nothing new for me. I really hope someone else is feeding him too. He's a mystery to me. Maybe I should outfit him with a little camera, see where he goes. LOL.

Anyway, I'm wishing everyone a dry day--and hoping for one here too!

Awwwwwwww poor Niko!! Glad you were there to help him dry out. No I will not growl at his "other owners". :-)

Awww Toby!! Sweet Toby! Yay that he's eating and is over whatever it was that was bugging him.

You take care too Kim. The weather over there is not good at all so stay safe!! x

I worry about those outside kitties on nights like that too. We had a wild one here as well. Mom knew cause she woke up when she almost rolled over on Tim who was sleeping this (-) close...he hates those storms. :)

your latest comment triggered me into visiting you here, thanks, I haven't in a while only because of time, but I will have a good look around now. Thanks for your insightful comments about Aunt and ageing. I think it makes an impact on all of us as we age (and old age never comes alone does it.. always things happen). I love snoopy - I have a toy one still which must be at least 35 years old. Helen x
I worry so much about the outdoor kitties around here. But, usually, they are happy. I just do what I can, you know? I'm glad those two have you worrying over them.

I hate the loud boomers too, all the cats except Abby hate them even worse.
