Thank You, Ms. Rye

I'd just like to say thanks to Ms. Rye for putting me in my "happy place" this afternoon. One shot is all that was needed--I'm truly not much of a drinker. Probably a good thing. Definitely a good thing. But after the business with Derry today, yeah, I needed more than my dark chocolate.

How do those of you with half a dozen...or thirteen...cats (or any other species of fur "child") possibly manage?

Just to explain, it did seem that Derry was relapsing into another bout of cystitis this morning, after his first bout two weeks ago. He might or might not have made a decent clump in the litter box around 6AM, as I was getting set to leave for work--someone did, and Nicki had done so earlier in the morning. But I'll never know for certain. Derry did, however, make an "okay" clump this afternoon around 1PM. Meaning that at least he's not blocked and doesn't require another vet visit today.

And yes, I left work at noon and came home to check on him, in case he was in distress and needed vet care immediately.

It probably would be easier to have human children.

Okay, okay, maybe it would be easier. At least human kids can communicate in a language you understand (when they're old enough) and at least they grow up and become independent.

Do I subconsciously do this to myself every Wednesday, because it's the weekly anniversary of Annie's death and I need a distraction? Don't answer that. I hope the answer is no.

Okay, snapshots, for a change of pace. I have a few. I went to Cat. Cemetery on Thanksgiving Monday, enjoyed the 22C weather and sunny skies. Not much for fall colour, though, just a few trees showing a bit, and not displaying their usual vibrancy. I had only the pocket Canon Elph with me.
