Shamelessly Eavesdropping

I've just been shamelessly eavesdropping in the basement, as the mother and "flea", Lucas, fight about money (he's 7, remember). He was screaming at her, telling her to "eff off," (at least he said "eff"), etc. Shouting he couldn't even call his mother, with her telling him to go do just that. If I heard correctly (and it's pretty clear down there), that would mean she's the step-mother. And that would explain why there are huge problems, though that doesn't excuse his behaviour or the lack of discipline on the part of the parents. (I'm pretty sure she's Isabelle's biological mother, though, from her telling me that she's worked part-time since Isabelle's birth, wants to get back into full-time work.)

Poor woman.

Where's the schmucky husband this afternoon, to step up to the plate?

You know, I like my own quiet, child-free little life.

I think I'll go have a shot of rye in sympathy.

Oh gosh! That would kind of explain the boy's aggression towards the mother. Oh dear. What a complex situation! So yeah - where is the hubby?!?!

Cheers to the rye!

Take care

wow, you're having some fun with the neighbors. You had better not be taking a shot every time there is yelling or you might have some troubles!

My new neighbor is still in the process of moving in. I don't think they are staying overnights yet.

Now you know where he was over the weekend...visiting Mom. Maybe she has him every other weekend. It sounds pretty ugly and perhaps the "mom" can't handle the boy. He is really to be sympathized with (altho that is kinda hard when he's acting out)...but he is presenting with this behavior because his internal life is such a mess and he's miserable that his Mom and Dad are divorced. Must have been really messy. Poor Kid stuck in the middle.
Just wanted to tell you email address is listed on a separate page on the blog. But it's...now don't laugh manxmnews AT gmail DOT com. Easy peasy. :)

I'm with you Kim. I now have little tolerance for bratty kids now, or ones who treat their parents with disrespect.

Enjoy your drink!!

Love the new header too.

you sound like me! I used to listen to our former crazy neighbors (who were thankfully evicted) through the vents! lol
Come on, you're making this up....just kidding. We've never lived that close to small children - ever, but I can sympathize with your pain. I wondered if it would make a difference if the mom knew you could hear every word they say, but I doubt it. I don't have a problem with self-medicating.
