Another nasty cat fight this AM
Man oh man...I was upstairs around 6AM, mouth filled with Listerine, when I heard a kerfuffle out back. Thought I'd better check on the boys, but the nasty sounds started as I was finishing that thought. Pounded down the stairs (no doubt waking the neighbours in the process) and rushed outside. Wasn't able to scream (a good thing) because I still had the mouthwash, so I clapped my hands loudly, twice. Which, thank goodness, broke up the fight.
Nasty, nasty, nasty.
I got Derry inside and checked him over for wounds, blood, etc., but there weren't any, knock on wood. Left Nicki out back to cool his heels and get his adrenaline level down.
Then I went back upstairs to finish getting ready for work and of course burst into tears--with my adrenaline sky high.
It was another redirected, Toby-fueled fight, of course, courtesy of Nicki.
Presumably this means that I can't leave both boys out back unattended in the mornings anymore. I was becoming a bit complacent because I haven't had trouble for a couple of weeks or so.
I was a bit hesitant to leave them alone and go to work, but watched for a few minutes before having to catch the bus, and they both seemed fine. I did give Derry two calming treats when I got him in the house, and then a bit later, before I brought Nicki in, spent a few minutes brushing him, as he loves that. I don't think those calming treats do anything, anyway. I often give them to Nicki as well, but don't notice any effect.
No more cats.
No. More. Cats.
Or, if I really feel I must once the boys have passed, maybe one at a time. Sheesh.
I love you, Nicki, but you can be such a sh*t sometimes.

Hope the boys calm down a little.

Dear me. Know that is not a good way to start the day.
