Who knew sage was a cat repellent?

I bought a small bundle of sage yesterday, along with a crystal to wear and one to hang up in front of my patio door. Didn't find a mirror I liked, and I didn't want just anything, so I'll look when I'm out and about tomorrow. I want to genuinely like what I put up.

And when the neighbours all left around supper time (and stayed away until 8PM), I lit the sage bundle and went top to bottom through the house, each room and corner. My technique was lousy, but my intent was for our Highest Good, and I think that's all that really matters.

I even went out on my front step and cleansed around my door, then went out into the garden and did the entire perimeter (small perimeter though that is--lol) and of course around the outside of the patio door.

What I found interesting is that both boys wouldn't come near me, reeking of sage as I did. Derry ran and hid, and even normally nosy Nicki stayed away.

Who knew sage was a cat repellent? LOL.

Even after the bundle was no longer smoldering, Derry still wouldn't come near me until I had showered and put my jammies on.

I've mentioned many times that I can no longer smell (allergies--to cats and to other things), but I still can pick up the scent of wood smoke, for instance. But not toxic chemicals like bleach, or kitty poop, flowers, food, grass, etc. Actually, pretty much nothing but smoke, and that quite faintly. However, I sure could smell that sage last night! And if I could smell it, I figure the entire house must reek of it. Who knows, maybe the neighbours will think I was smoking weed or have a grow-op. Ha! I'd burn sage every day if I thought it would repel them.

But they have been quiet since the whole mess started. And were quiet for two or three weeks after I had spoken with the mom at the end of March. My co-worker asked (generally) what's different in their parenting immediately following a complaint? What do they do with the boy that's different? Because if it were all entirely out of their control, you'd think nothing they did would keep him quiet regardless. Just food for thought.

Anyway, it's Friday, I had two good workshops this week, put on by Security (the first) and HR (the second), I get a much-needed hair cut tomorrow, and I'm going to stop in at HomeSense and Michael's (crafts) to look for a little decorative mirror for the front door. And possibly finish painting my pine buffet this weekend.
