I can't believe it...Five days without chocolate!

Five days without chocolate...There ought to be a universal rule that for every day you don't have chocolate, you lose a pound.

It's not been intentional. I went three days, then realized it was, well, three whole days since I'd had any. Yesterday and today have been intentional, however. I could stand to "de-tox" for a little bit. Payday is Friday the 29th, I can stock up then.  :-)

I haven't seen hide or hair of that little black cat since Wednesday. She came with Toby just those two days. I think she was looking for a daddy for kittens and when Toby couldn't help her in that regard, she took off with the other short-haired tabby I saw on Wednesday. ::Sigh:: Yet another young cat will be having more unwanted babies, and since she's so thin and malnourished, I can't imagine she'll be in great shape to nurse them. I'll keep my eye out for her all the same, though.

Today is Derry's birthday. Well, today is the birth date the shelter put on his papers. It's probably fairly close, though, within a week or so.

Pic snapped last week.
He's been getting five batches of smooches from me at a time, for his five years. He's had treats, plenty of "stinky goodness," lots of garden time, play time (with his current favourite feathered stick and with some freshly-nipped up toys), even a tussle with Nicki. Even the next door neighbour kids have been reasonable this weekend, like "normal" kids for a change. (Watch, I'll have jinxed it now.) That's probably been the best birthday present of all. LOL.

And except for the regular household chores and a couple of errands, I've done zip. I'm still working on shelter blanket #26, haven't picked up the knitting needles since last week, before our heat wave. I'm really slowing down on this, certainly won't be knitting the one a week I initially hoped. I'll just do what I can, what I feel like doing, and won't beat myself up about it.

I'm also still painting that Jysk buffet that's in pieces in the basement. One side left to go, on each piece. You'd think I could get it done, but I tell you, I'm terrific at starting projects, but I'm lousy at follow-through. As evidenced by the state of this whole house.

I'd rather be out taking snapshots of flowers!

With the little Canon Elph yesterday, on the way for groceries
It's definitely not Photography, folks.
But I enjoy it anyway.
Happy Sunday!

Day 2... no chocolate, no wine...
I'm snarlier than my boys when they encounter Poppy...it's not looking good for my stated goal of 30 days...
Happy birthday to Derry XO

You know... chocolate is good for your heart (in more ways than one). I happen to agree and buy one bar of Lindt's salted dark chocolate each week...eating a small piece each day. It's one of my 3 vices; cats, coffee, and chocolate. Don't go too long without it! And BTW, your pictures are lovely.
If we're keeping score, I'll have to start over. I made a chocolate cake yesterday.

Give a birthday hug to Derry for me, too. Love the flower pictures.
We always love your flower pictures. That 5 days, no chocolate! You know, some people sell their kidney...I'm just saying.
