Altercations, Rainbows and Drowned Rats
7:30AM-ish I heard shouting outside, not exactly uncommon in our complex. I peeked out the window but couldn't see who was causing the disturbance. A few minutes later I heard a crash/bang. Still couldn't see anyone, but the next thing you know, my neighbours, the husband and wife, went outside. She was still in her jammies, and quite upset. Apparently two 20-something yahoos, with a little rat dog on a leash, threw a beer bottle at their truck. It wasn't personal, they probably were still drunk and being stupid, but of course there was an altercation. I was just getting ready to head out for groceries anyway, and slunk away and out of sight, so I have no idea what happened after that. Nothing dire or dreadful, I hope. Their truck was intact when I got home an hour later, no bodies or blood, so I presume it was okay in the end.
These days, I feel like I'm living in the tough north end of this city. There's lots of that in this area; I've mentioned many times our complex borders on a lovely, mature, quiet, middle-class neighbourhood. But I'm not used to having the drama right next door. Whackadoodle family...Added drama...Is there a correlation? You decide.
Of course it started to rain just as I left, half an hour in advance of the first bus. But I persevered and got to see a lovely rainbow.
I did a "boost" in Picasa to make it more visible
However, I'm the one who ended up taking shelter under a tree, umbrella in hand, as I got caught in a downpour, and so my lower half got soaked. There's nothing quite like dripping slacks and squishy socks and sneakers. Thus the "drowned rat" reference in the subject line. I ought to have waited the half hour for the bus! (And if I had, I might have known how the neighbours' confrontation turned out. Uh, on second thought, I'm glad I got soaked!)
I hope everyone's having a peaceful and calm day, no altercations in your vicinity. LOL.
