Double Double Toil and Trouble

My uncle, who has lived in Italy for the past 8 years, is in Montreal right now, visiting his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

He took the train up yesterday and arrived around 1PM.

Now, Dad on his own is fairly quiet and serious, as I am. But put him with his brother? It's another story altogether.

Uncle Peter on the left, Dad on the right.
Lunch at a wonderful downtown restaurant, on the water.
Dad and I had the smoked salmon on puff pastry.
Dad and Peter had the creme brulee for dessert. I've had it, it's wonderful.
I opted for the warm chocolate bread pudding. Yum!
In the Army Surplus store after lunch. I'll have to wait a year or so before ever showing my face in there again, till the memory of our visit has passed from the staff's minds. Please don't think I'm joking. Two old farts carrying on like fools, and one middle-aged...something...keeping right up with them. On my own I'm pretty serious too, but Peter sure brings out the sassy mouth. Mine.

Peter's found his hat.  :-)
Not sure if this look is a good one for Dad.
Is this really my dad, in public?
At least Peter bought a few items, including, of all things, a machete. He's harkening back to his bush-whacking days of youth, I think. I guess that won't be in his carry-on bag on his way back to Italy. Ha.

It was fun to watch them, but they were...entertaining in that store. Customers and staff made comments. And if those comments happened to include me too, well, I'll never admit it.

Kim, I love your pictures! Sure looks like everyone is having fun. The food looked wonderful too! I think I might have been tempted to have both desserts. My DH has 3 brothers and when you get them together... well, 'sometimes' it can be embarrassing, but that's alright.

Boys will be boys! Wonderful pictures, and you look about 12 years old! These are the kinds of memories that will warm your heart for many years. Once you're done being embarrassed, that is!
