Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off To Gan We Go

I guess I ought to post some of the Gananoque pics from our little jaunt on Monday, before too much time passes.

One of the cute gift shops (closed) down by the water.
Another gift shop and art gallery, part of the waterfront tourist complex.
One of the tour boats, getting set to head out. They do 3-hour and 1-hour cruise. The 3-hour cruises stop at Boldt Castle, though because it's in the US, you need a passport to disembark and tour the grounds.
A few more shots of the waterfront. This part is new, opened in June, so a sign told us.
Walking into town, the view from the little bridge.
Dad and I ate here years ago, but not this time.
Lunch at the Panache Bakery on the main street. Fabulous, fabulous bakery. If anyone ever is in Gananoque, stop in. Dad bought an apple crumble pie to take with us and we ate it in two days. One of the most delicious desserts I've ever had.
Sign in front of City Hall
In the park-someone was fishing
Several sculptures, which we'd not seen before on previous jaunts to Gan.

Notice the sculptural tree below, if you can see it, not the fountain.  :-)
There's always a pair of swans.
 Below the overpass, actually.
I spied this bird as we were heading out of the park, could barely see him or her. I'm not sure what it is, am thinking it might be an immature heron. I do have a book of Eastern Ontario birds, but there were two or three that looked similar to my untrained eye. So if you know what it is for certain, let me know!
Of course I snapped a lot more pics than these, especially of the swans, but this is more than enough to "torture" you all with.

As for today, it's rainy and quiet and sleepy for us all--my last work day of vacation. But I'm not going to think about Monday until, well, Monday.  :-)

Have a good day, everyone.

It's a heron of some kind! And what a beauty!! Look at its claws!!

Love the bird and tree sculptures too!!

I'm so liking Gananannana! Ok I can't spell it but it's lovely - very very pretty and so far the cakes and the coffee gets a big thumbs up from you and your dad!

I think having a sleepy last day of vacation is just right! Enjoy! Take care

I sooo enjoyed these! You have to live in the most BEAUTIFUL place ever! How blessed you are!
Gan is such a beautiful, quaint, lovely town. I, too, think you're lucky to live by all the water and beauty. The reward for living next to the Adams family.
