Last of the Fort Wellington Pics

Before I post the last pics of Fort Wellington, I'd like to ask for prayers, Light, etc. for Ann of Zoolatry, whose husband, Vic, died yesterday after battling cancer for several years. Many of you in the cat blogging world already "know" her, and like me, have had her do cat blog headers, other graphics, etc. I'm absolutely brokenhearted for her, can't even imagine what she and her family are going through.

As for Fort Wellington, after the blockhouse, we went back outside to the defensive tunnel. It takes you outside the fort, of course, though there wasn't much to see.

Miscellaneous outdoor shots:
Remains of the old pier along the river's edge
These spikes are replaced every 20-25 years and are due for replacement soon.
Afterward we stopped for a late lunch in Brockville.
About 5000 calories on our plates, each. I didn't eat again till 8AM the next day. LOL.
Several leftover pics from Brockville, earlier in the day as we were heading to the Fort. We stopped then for a latté and a snack.
 City Hall, below.
Saturday is market day, of course.
And so ends Saturday's jaunt.  :-)

Take care, everyone. Remember that no matter what's happening in your lives, each day we have here is a precious gift. Please find at least one "strawberry" today!
