Prayers for my co-worker's mom would be appreciated
My co-worker, S, the one who has been such tremendous support to me and who was with me on that terrible last trip to the vet with Annie, just found out her mom has cancer.
By coincidence, her mother's name is Judy (as my mom's is), though she's younger.
Apparently S.'s father took his wife to emerg yesterday, where they ran some tests. A mass was found in the pelvic area and she was admitted, though is still waiting for a bed.
Further tests have been done this morning, and the best guess right now is that Judy has some form of blood cancer, which likely has metastasized. More tests are forthcoming. I have no idea what treatment options she will have, or if things have progressed too far.
While I can't (yet) know what S. and her family are going through, I'm sitting here at my desk in tears.
I would appreciate prayers, Light, good vibes, purrs...whatever it is that you do...for them all. Thank you.

Sometimes there seems to be not enough prayers to go around, or as if God is simply not listening.
But, I'll do it anyway - pray for them (and for you). XXXOOO
My co-worker and I were just talking a couple of days ago about how the older you get the more sickness, suffering and death you deal with, in friends, family and of course yourself in turn.
I would like to still believe in a personal deity, because it would be of some comfort, but I just can't. I don't know if there's any rhyme or reason to all the sorrow and suffering, it certainly doesn't seem like it.
But I do believe in the power of positive healing energy, or prayers, or whatever one wants to call it. Not necessarily for healing and for miracles, but for strength to see us through.
