No news on Toby yet
I called this morning, but Meghan wasn't in, was told she'd be there in a few hours. So I just called again (about 1:40PM) and was told she wasn't in at all today. So. No Toby update until tomorrow at the earliest. I don't want to keep pestering them, but will try for an update tomorrow. Fingers (and paws!) crossed for him.

Yesterday morning, as I was leaving for work, I saw "Mr. Peanuts" (unneutered young male) around the back of my unit, by the fence. I think he had been up to my step looking for the kitty buffet, but alas, the buffet is gone. I didn't see any paw prints in this morning's fresh dusting of snow, though. I won't put food out again, but if I do have an opportunity to catch him (or any other stray), I'll do my best.

Nicki was on guard yesterday morning, and again this morning, looking for Toby on our fence. I think it'll take the Nickster a while to "stand down," as it were.

The neighbour mother and kids were away for five days, from last Thursday till yesterday. Beats me where; I don't care. She had a doozy of a screaming match at her husband last night, however. Unfortunately, it was before our City's noise by-laws kick in (9PM--I checked today, on the City web site). And no, as I've mentioned many times before, our condo by-laws contain nothing related to noise disturbances. I also checked the Family & Child Services web site to see what qualifies for "abuse" and "neglect" and I don't think a miserable marriage and bad parenting falls under their parameters, based on what I read. So I've lit a candle for them all at Gratefulness.org and have asked the Universe for clarity and guidance around this, for myself.

Oh, a few of you might recall that the brother of a friend in Montreal, who lives in Vancouver, was attacked in his apartment building corridor a couple of weeks ago. He had 6 hours of surgery on his right eye at that time, and now has had 2 more surgeries. There might be a chance to have some vision restored to it, but I don't have any further info. My dad has talked to him, as this is his ex-brother-in-law. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him.

That's today's update. As soon as I hear anything about Toby, I'll let everyone know. If things go okay for him, I'll do a post on the Fuzzy Tales site, too, because so many people were kind enough to post on FB and Twitter back in November or early December. :-)
My favourite Toby pic, from last July. I've posted it here before, so apologies for the repeat.

You have him starting at a fresh place where at least he has a chance.
Hope you hear that things are going ok for him.
Your neighbors are terrible. Some of the worst I've ever heard of but then there's a lot of them out there. That's why when I moved I looked for something in the woods. I like nature at lot better than people.
XO,
JC
He is such a little trouper I am sure he will love his new home.
But we will miss that little face. I know you will too.
Wish that there was something you could do with those neighbors. Aside from some sound proof ear buds I am not sure what else there is.

I do hope Toby gets a clean bill of health and adjusts well to his new life. You did good!
Fingers crossed too for your friend's brother. I hope some sight is restored to him. Such random violence! :-( Poor man. :-(
I wish eternal flame on your candle for your neighbours. May the light burn through their miasma of misery and unhappiness and stop it from clouding your sanctuary!
Take care
