No, that's NOT too much to ask for

I just got an email from a girlfriend, part of which was, "Peace/quiet, some sleep, less rage …  I don't think that's too much to ask for...."

I replied with a couple of inspirational quotes and one web page that I found this afternoon, as I happen to be in need of some inspiration today. Some positive expectations.

"Expect your every need to be met. Expect the answer to every problem, expect abundance on every level." - Eileen Caddy

"Set your sights high, the higher the better. Expect the most wonderful things to happen, not in the future but right now. Realize that nothing is too good. Allow absolutely nothing to hamper you or hold you up in any way." -Eileen Caddy

The web page below has nothing to do with Eileen Caddy. It's someone selling her products, but that doesn't negate the truth to the universal law of attraction, and the reasons she gives for our general lack of positive expectations in our lives:

So, no, peace/quiet, sleep and less (hormonal) rage are not too much to ask for. Not for my friend and not for me.

I wish you all an exceptional day!

(We're going to have an exceptionally messy snowstorm tomorrow. LOL.)

Derry, a few days ago, expecting me to let him back in.  :-)

Kim, it is always good to be optimistic, but sometimes I wonder if those sorts of messages bring me down, as I hope for the best, but it is usually the same routine of going to work and coming home.

Last night I only got two hours sleep after being on call, but I am going to be nice to myself and make it movie day and treat myself to a movie and cheap lunch out.

Hope you find something fun in your day.

I'm not happy with "hope." I've spent the last dozen years expecting nothing and secretly hoping/wishing for a lot of things--very few, if any, which have come to fruition. Expect nothing...get nothing. I want to forget about hope and start expecting the best. And that doesn't mean getting everything I want. I just want to shift my attitude, from hopeless internal misery to something more positive. :-)

BTW, when we've had little or no sleep, or our hormones are out of whack, all this stuff goes out the window....!

Kim, I'm not sure what to say here as I too don't think that *expectations* are the answer - low or high. I think that you have to find happiness in the here and now - and if that can't be, then you have to make some difficult choices to change the here and now.

Ever hear of ACT:
A: Accept the things you cannot change.
C: Choose to envision the way you'd like things to be.
T: TAKE ACTION towards that vision.

I like what Rian says.
Maybe we can't expect the best, but it is better for us not to expect the worst all the time.
Now DERRY has his expectations all clear, doesn't he?

I like what Rian says too. I don't think by expecting good things to come that one sits around and does nothing, assuming the universe will drop everything into one's lap. I just think that expecting joyful things of and for yourself is better than expecting everything to be crappy, day in and day out, without change. :-)

Seems that it is more beneficial to a mindset to be positive (hopeful???) than negative (pessimitic). Sometimes it cannot be helped to feel down and low. But, the truth of the matter is if we can't control it what good does it do to worry and feel bad? Easier said than done sometimes.

Derry says it all with that look.

You probably know my stand on life and its changes so I won't go thru with it here and bore everyone. xox
