Respite
I've had almost two weeks' respite from the neighbour mother and kids, who, presumably, have been with the paternal grandmother in the Toronto region. I had expected them to return last week, but mercifully they didn't. I'm surmising she has taken her two weeks' vacation from work and so they'll all be back this weekend.
I'm grateful beyond words to the Universe for this break, especially since I was home 1.5 days this week sick, but it's going to be oh so hellish trying to readjust to their return. I've felt I've had a real home again, while they've been gone. The father BBQs in the evening, but other than that, one can hardly hear him.
We've also had a brief respite from the breath-sucking, lung-gasping humidity, for the past day and a half. We're heading back into the "pea soup" though. Such is Ontario summer weather!
I got the Maxi/Guard oral gel for Derry on Wednesday, but....1. It's a
pretty runny gel and 2. I need to be facing Derry and be slightly below
him to get anything onto his gums. So I can't restrain him while I'm
attempting this and I've not had much luck yet. I've started to use the
pet toothpaste again, though, with the hope that I can get him
accustomed to it once more (he loves the taste), and sneak the gel in from time to time (supposed
to be every other day for 3 weeks, then once or twice a week). I'm not
good with being consistent, one of my many failings, and I need to be consistent about this.
It's hot, lady. And you can forget about that supposedly tasteless "gel" you want to apply to my gums.
Don't even think about trying to put either that gel or toothpaste in my mouth, lady!
There's nothing else to relate. I'm doing my best to ignore the work politics, because it's far out of my realm of control. Head down, do my work, carry on.
So I'll leave you with some snapshots from the walk along the waterfront park last Saturday morning.
Purrs from the boys and peace from me.

Have a good weekend.

Good luck with the toothpaste applying! Derry and Nicki are totally gorgeous! But I'd never ever know to use kitty toothbrushes on kitty teeth - I can't even pill!
Booo to next door returning!! :-(
Oh I must tell you! My own new next door neighbours - young couple, very nice - have a cat called "Demon" (not the black kitty on my blog - another one)! LOL!! For a while this sweetie was an indoor cat but now he's gradually being let out into the communal garden. Gumtree is ok, I think, he just watches Demon like a hawk but Charlie...! LOL!! Oh dear! Hopefully all will find their own spaces! If only work politics could be so interesting! LOL!
Have a great weekend - fingers crossed next door will be too knackered by the weather to be much nuisance!
Take care

And of course Derry and Nicki are both beautiful. Just read the post about Carla. I probably missed a few when grand daughter was here. Sounds like Nicki was interested in Carla?
How nice that you've that this respite from the neighbors, especially while you were home sick but sorry that you were sick.
I would have trouble being consistent with that gel too. I wish you the best of luck on that!
Maybe this trick on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S2VUp1PSIc
will help you get close to your boys teeth to get the gel on them. Our vet uses a clip or a peg on Poppy sometimes and it does keep her still.
Enjoy your weekend. Hope you get to have some fun.

I recently watched a video on ducks. Can't say I can look at male ducks the same way again. LOL.
I am dreading the onset of the "peasoup" you were referring to. We had just cooled off too and now it is supposed to be way worse this week. I do NOT like summer!
Your photos, as always, exquisite!
Enjoy your respite!
