This sucks sheep sh*t

Well, our office gets to move back downstairs to the "dungeon" next month, to be squished in with the other 5 members of our larger group. Into the same place we moved OUT of three years ago. At that time there were 9 of us (our 6 plus 3 from another department) crammed into that small space, barely room to move around with all the storage cabinets and bookcases having to be in the aisle. Now we'll be 11. Yay for us.

It sucks sheep shit.

In my case I suppose I'm lucky, being the lowest on the totem pole in terms of rank (though not seniority), I've only ever had a cubicle. Most of my coworkers will be giving up their offices and having to go back to tiny cubes. I'll just lose my lovely, roomy cubicle space.

Did I say it sucks sheep shit?

And I get to be around two people, one of whom is a former coworker, I really have no use whatsoever for.

Maybe it's not just sheep shit, maybe it's also turkey turd. Doggie doo-doo. Cat crap. You get the idea.

I'm SO glad I have a little mp3 player now! I'll be following in my boss's footsteps and keeping my ear buds in most of the day.

Pfffftttttt.

If you're retired, or self-employed, be glad of it!

Oh, I could write volumes...let's just say I'd trade places with you in a heartbeat in order to have my own cubicle and earbuds! But I do agree, those self employed or retired should do a happy dance every day. I plan to.

I'm so sorry.
Can you apply for another job while doing this one ?
I was so relieved when I could "retire" back in 2007. I am truly thankful.

In our office they call it Workspace 2.0, no one has offices, everyone has short cubicle walls, and cubes are smaller to squeeze more of us in.

I call it going to back to the 70's! Who knows they might start making us share phones again. :(

Totally agree it sucks sheep shit...and the others too. Good thing for MP3 players..which weren't available in the 70's, and Sony Walkman's were too pricey for most!

Enjoy your weekend!

That sounds very unpleasant. Environment is such a significant factor in the workplace. Maybe more posters of happy places on your cube walls or pretend to have have some contagious disease? yea, it just sucks!

In the same situation a few years ago I wasn't allowed to use the ear buds (or whatever the equivalent was back then lol)
If you CAN, do it!!!
I was told it didn't fit with the 'team' ethic they were trying to create... Out of 7 women in a space designed for 3... Ghastly...
It would have kept me sane... Good luck Kim XO

Aw yes. Politics of organizations. Let us go full circle and squish everyone back into cubicles. Hmmm... I am afraid this sounds very familiar. That is funny about the boss wearing the earbuds all day. I've seen this too. Perhaps so they can't hear the employees crying into their coffee??? LOL!

Yup. Sucks.
