Slow Progress

I guess it's progress. It's certainly not fast enough for me.

At least the living room is mostly back together. Some day I hope to have a new couch, ditch this old hide-a-bed.
My stylist's handyman father stopped by after work yesterday and I'll have him do the trim, though he said it should be painted before it goes on--which I'll do to save costs. So I'm not sure how long that will take, as I need to buy enough trim to replace what I had taken off. I had wanted to have someone redo the entire lower area, but that's not going to happen at this time.

Nicki asleep on the couch this afternoon. Apparently he doesn't want to look at the mess or contemplate the remaining work.
I was home today, feeling lousy with a head cold, chest cough and a serious lack of sleep (I've not slept much for the past few weeks). Nothing serious. It was wonderful to crawl back into bed around 5AM and sleep for a few hours.

I didn't let the day go to waste, though. I finished priming the guest room wall and closet (coat #3), got my outdoor Christmas decorations up (garland and bows over the garage, lights around my door, a little decoration for the mailbox and the wreath on the door, that's all), put two coats of primer on most of the stairwell wall (using a broom  handle as an extender), vacuumed upstairs, and decluttered a bit more.

I'm tired. And still feel like cr*p. Can't think why.  :-p

I'll be crawling into bed in another hour or so...if I can stay up that long. (It's only 6PM now.) I can hear the mother pounding around next door over the (loud) sound of my furnace and the noise machine on the basement stairs, but am too weary for anything but resignation and discouragement.

However, this, too, shall pass, and in the overall scheme of things, it's pretty minor.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, calm, quiet evening and night.

Aww Kim!! You sound so run down! But I totally see progress! Your lounge area looks gorgeous in that pic!! So light and airy - topped to perfection with a sleeping Nicki! I totally remain optimistic that the noise next door will muffle eventually!!! I hope so!! Fingers and paws crossed!

Yes, please do take care of yourself!! x

It looks like you're making a lot of progress now...it was a HUGE job to start with! But don't wear yourself out too much. Try some green tea with lots of lemon in it...it always helps me with colds. And rest, LOTS of rest!

PS -- Now you've got me wanting to redecorate my house!
