Pick a word, any word

Well, not any word.

Some of you might remember that my word for 2013 was "solace." Actually, I had two, "solace" and "serenity." Solace I've been working on, and have had to some small degree. Serenity is beyond my reach at this stage of the game.

So I want a word for 2014.

About a month ago, even less, I'd have said "gratitude." I even found a sweet little graphic that I printed out for my office space and also for my front door:
However, after my little "chat" with my boss just before our Christmas break, in the aftermath of the move and reorg, I've decided that "gratitude" isn't quite the word I want for 2014.

"Stuff it up your *ss, I quit" is more than one word, and will achieve only bankruptcy and ruin in general, as will "F**k off, I don't need this sh*t."

So I want a word that encompasses learning to take a deep breath and to step back, not take every single thing so personally, and just let the crap go.

"Perspective" is the only word that comes to mind. "Attitude" is a good word too, but in my case, my attitude is pretty lousy right now, so I'll take a pass on that.

Any suggestions? One catchy word?

Maybe "perspective" really is it--to remind myself that I won't be thinking about work/coworkers/neighbours/etc. when I'm lying on my death bed.
BTW, the above poster? I read it as "no where" of course.  :-p

How about this? I remember reading this quote some years ago and really being struck by it:
Or maybe this little one has it right:
On the other hand, perhaps I just need some sleep. (True enough!)
Ideas? Suggestions? I'm never going to have a personality that lets things slide, like water off a duck's back as the expression goes. But I won't survive long at the office now if I can't learn to let things go, not take everything so seriously.

Purrs from the boys and peace from me.

NAMASTE

namaste is roughly equivalent to "greetings" or "good day", in English, implicitly with the connotation "to be well".

So I wish you : to be well.
As hard as it is to be in that state of acceptance and just be with what is.

I think perspective is just right. Not easy to achieve but possible with some work.

Keep those ear buds in!

And as to your home situation remember you are one year closer to the time when your horrible neighbors will move!

I'm hoping for February if not sooner!

HUMOR?

As in look at life as a giant cosmic joke. Failing that, I'm pretty sure F*CKIT is all one word!

I'm going to take these words and post them up in my cubicle, maybe in some colourful font. And that includes "F*CKIT," by the way. :-D
I think Trish beat my word choice!

I like Trish's idea...:)

In all seriousness, the phrase I've been using lately is "this too shall pass". I try to remind myself that in two years, five years, ten years, whatever is causing me stress at the moment will be replaced by something else.

Hang in there! And have a shot of rye every so often. :)
It's one word to me. As well as screwit and biteme.

I'm still working on my 2014 word too. I have a hard time as well letting things go. I can for awhile, but then it's like it builds up and WHAM! it gets to me. Especially about work.

Well...clearly winning the lottery is our only option...

Balance
my word for your wall.

Really hope your work situation improves and the noisy neighbors move in 2014
All I saw was "SNOW HERE". Guess that tells you how much I really wish it would snow here, eh?
I hope you find the word (there are some really good suggestions in the comments) for 2014. :)

Hi Kim, I have several sayings I like... like: "be still... and know", and "choose love... not fear". But my word suggestion for 2014 is "awareness"... especially awareness of the Higher Self (our true nature) that resides within each of us.

I usually have too many words for my days, most of them bad - at least for my workdays. But at the end, I forget about work at home; I read, I write, I spend time with my cats. To try to change one's perspective is difficult; it's like changing one's personality. I usually just forget about the bad things and immerse myself in the good. Thankfully, I have those, too.

Patience? Survive?? I think I'm in the same boat with you. My catch phrase for work has been "I don't give a sh*t" but I do need to be a bit more positive...*sigh* I think I'm going to choose "Vision" as I have a vision of where I want my life to go....We're purring that you find your word soon.
