Hopes Revisited

I didn't do badly this weekend, in the "hopes" department.  :-)

A bit of snow did melt...though we had another 10 cms or even more overnight. I didn't bother shoveling the driveway this morning, I was too disgusted, depressed, dismayed, discouraged...pick a word.

I had low-lites and a cut on Saturday and am pleased with the results. Same colour (caramel), but all the old blonde hi-lites finally are gone.

I added a very little bit of "glow" to the "selfie" in Picasa, but otherwise didn't do anything to blur it...the original already was a bit blurry, which works in my favour (re: crow's feet and middle-aged skin).
In spite of a few sneezes and snuffles, the boys seemed fine. (I have this "fear" that they're just going to pass the virus germs back and forth now, indefinitely.)

Pic snapped through the patio door glass.
The neighbours were gone until about 8:45PM last night; yay! I had a quiet, peaceful weekend and it was fabulous. It's March break here this week and I don't know if the kids came back or stayed with grandma, but I did hear both the "adults."

As for something pretty and spring-like...I didn't do so well there, unless you count a summer tee-shirt from Walmart yesterday, and a pretty scarf for any time (also Walmart). However, I did go into Pier One (kitchen and home decor store) on Saturday, and the entire store was very Spring-like, lovely items everywhere. So I guess that counts. I saw a headboard I like, a seagrass block one. Not sure it would do for my own bed and decor, but it caught my eye, "spoke to me," as their ads like to tout.

Pic snipped from their main site (http://www.pier1.com/)
It's definitely not in the budget at this time, maybe never, even if it would look good in the bedroom. I just like the natural look and feel.

So...Small hopes, but mostly met. Not a bad recap to the weekend at all.  :-)

Wishing everyone a good start to the week.

Purrs from the boys and peace from me.

Kim your hair looks great! And I don't know where you're talking about all of these "wrinkles" you look fantastic! Glad that you did have your peacefulness this weekend, you deserved it after the last few weekends have been very hard on you. Glad the boys are doing better!

"Fantastic" is an over-statement, and as I wrote, a blurred (not intentional, I swear) snapshot is a plus. LOL.
Kim, I love your hair! I'd love to wear my hair like that only I think my face is too round.

Would that headboard be too much of a temptation for the boys to sharpen their nails on it?

Oh, DUH! Yes, the boys would use a headboard like that a scratcher, how could they not? And I'm sure they'd use it at all hours of the night too. LOL.

Well, scratch that...no pun intended.

Small hopes are all I can afford these days, but they'll do.

Nice hair colour Kim and the cut is awesome, you don't look middle aged at all. Hope the boys are feeling better.

Your hair looks great, Kim! Glad you had a good and quiet weekend, too.

That headboard is really nice, but I have a feeling our cats would use it as a giant scratching post. Ha ha.
