Blissful Day

I went down to a marina this morning, and a lakefront park. Haven't been since last summer or perhaps the fall with Dad. Took lots of pics, will post through the week, or whenever.

Here's a 30-second snip of the waves, though -- it's been a blustery day.

The neighbour kids aren't back yet as of 5:30PM, as I type this, and I can't possibly express how blissful it's been to have the peace and quiet all week. Last summer I spent almost every moment at home on pins and needles, wondering when the screaming would start again, and I squandered the time. This year I'm trying to be a bit more in the "now" and just enjoy the quiet while I can.

I'm also trying to disconnect more at home for the summer, not always be at my laptop. Being online not only all day at work but also in my spare time is burning me out, is robbing me of time with the cats in my garden, time to read, heck, even just time to nap! Happily, I've been able to do all of those things these past two days, just by checking email and blogs less. I intend to continue the trend.  :-)

And with that, I'm hitting "publish" and shutting down.

Have a lovely evening/night, everyone. Peace.

Sounds like you've found the balance you were seeking.
One of my friends in my condo building who has been having horrible noise issues with her neighbor had that noise reducing insulation put in the common wall. So far it has not been tested out as she's not been there much. But if my friend still hears her, she'll be having that special drywall installed like you had done. Will keep you posted.
Advancements in technology has given so much and yet, taken so much away at the same time.

So happy you had a happy, peaceful, quiet, blissful week, Kim. :)

Sounds like a great idea Kim. Glad you are doing some fun sounding things for you. I am trying to read more, and watch some more DVDs and go out for more walks while we have a mild winter.

Loved the video of the waves, Kim. It's one of the sounds I miss living here in North Texas. Thanks for sharing and glad you had a nice quiet 4th!

Peace to you my friend. Enjoy those moments! I've been offline more lately, due to all the cats needing time and attention along with fifty thousand chores! Ha! I hope you're successful with the rest and naps!

Thanks for the purrs for little Odyssey. She's feeling better, which makes me very happy. I was very worried about her.
