Chinny Chin-Chin (and a slew of other stuff)
Derry's not mine.

And this cutie patootie:
Looks pretty good to me -- I just snapped this pic yesterday or maybe it was Thursday.
As for other things, I have a slew of "stuff" for Saturday:
I'm so terribly sad for Rene from It's All About The Cats, whose beloved Tucker had to cross to the "Bridge" yesterday. Tucker was one of those extra-special Cats that those who follow her blog loved, and her own deep and abiding love for him shone through all her posts. ::Sigh::
Ann @ Zoolatry made the badge, of course. I have it up on the cats' blog, on our "Friends at the Bridge" page.
I'll do a "comments off" post over on the boys' site soon.Other things:
I had a hair cut today, always love having her dry my hair because she styles it so well, something I just don't have the talent or patience for. Plus it's not easy to do the back of one's own head! I've decided not to put any more colour in it at this time (i.e. highlights), as there's still quite a bit of leftover blonde and caramel. Once it's all grown out (a year? more?) I'll see how grey it is and decide then if I want to tone down the white with something semi-permanent. It just depends on whether it comes in the same gorgeous colour that my dad's did, all silvery-brown. (He's mostly white now, but for a long time he just had the most stunning hair colour, IMO.)
I actually had quite a bit of (forced) down time this week. I strained my problematic hip/back on Wednesday, during my half-day off, after having strained it on Sunday and Monday moving furniture for the carpet-cleaning. So I was home and mostly horizontal on Thursday (lots of sleeping, lots of heating pad time). I went to work on Friday morning and made it through 4.5 hours, but then came home and spent the afternoon lying on the heating pad (more sleeping). It felt good to do that, both physically and mentally. Better today, certainly more mobile, but of course I've not been sitting for long periods as I have to do at the office (worst thing you can do for your back is sit all day).
Anyway, Tuesday is the steroid shot, and while I'm aware that it can wreck joints, I'm going to chance the one injection, just for the hope of pain relief. The other hip is bothering me now, too, probably because I'm trying to compensate. BTW, I had to pick up the med today, i.e. pay for it myself. That surprised me, as I would have thought it would have been covered under our provincial health care. (I'm reimbursed for prescriptions through work coverage, however.) It was only about $12 or $13, though, so not an issue. I was worried it would be $100 or something ridiculous like that, which would have been problematic to pay for up front.
I think the massager is helping a bit with all the painful knots; I'm going to keep using it.
As for (mercifully) non-medical, more enjoyable things, how's this for the way to spend an afternoon:
Okay, I ended up puttering in the garden and doing some trimming and didn't actually get to read anything. LOL. But I did enjoy the rye, and I didn't care that it wasn't in the "right" type of glass.
That made me think of Eileen's post today, about the passing of her Aunt E, who apparently was quite the character: tattooed, beer-drinking, cigarette-smoking, opinionated. Except for the smoking (which I admittedly loathe and won't have around me), I bet I would have liked the old doll. It made me think that even here, on my own blog, I can't quite be my "real" self, the one who has 3 tattoos, is very opinionated on too many subjects, swears like a sailor, is quick to anger and judgement, who has no patience (certainly none for those who wouldn't say "shit" if their mouths were full of it), and likes her beer and aged rye too (though not frequently, lest it become a problem).
I could ramble on about more--I meant to post pics of my little garden today, but this already is too long. Have I said how much I love my garden? It's just not green for long enough during the year. (Eileen, you definitely have the right idea re: post-retirement living, I'm thinking the Nanaimo area -- lol.)
More garden snapshots to come.
Oh, but before I go, I mustn't forget the two cute cats up for adoption, seen at PetValu this morning:
Abbott, who wouldn't hold still for even a moment, hence the blurry pics:
His floofy tails has some matts, he needs a bit grooming. And this cutie patootie:
Notice the "New Product in Store" sign -- it doesn't refer to the kitten, of course, but somehow it seem quite appropriate!
Such sweeties. May they find wonderful and true forever homes. :-)
Peace.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo for some time now. It's been 12 years now and counting. Not sure if I'll ever get one in this lifetime. ;)
I have a hip pain while I sleep. I rotate from side to side to ease the pain all night. But it's gone once I leave the bed. Hmmm.
I love your garden and can't wait for it to come back each year. You take exquisite care of it.
I love that picture of Nicki in the garden. :) I love your garden too!
I think we all keep to some extend out true selves invisible. Maybe age takes down barriers as the mind fades.
And I did read Eileen's post. Her aunt sounded like she was an endearing character despite being her own person. I know people who are *gruff*.. but this is accepted as their nature.
Your garden is such a beautiful oasis, and I love that the boys can be out there whenever the weather permits.
Paws crossed for the little cuties at Pet Valu to find forever homes soon. Thanks for sharing about them.
Thanks for the link to my blog. Aunt E was very likable, she just had an a-hole for a husband so we had restricted contact to avoid him as much as possible.
I actually your glass was full of apple juice. ;) It's nice to outdoors with a cold drink..whatever it is.
Love the kitten - he/she's adorable. It would be hard to resist a cutie like that.
On to your next posts...
