A bit too much for one day
I think just about every news agency, even those in the U.S., will be carrying the news of the terrible and tragic events that unfolded in Ottawa today, on and around Parliament Hill. I don't need to go into details or rehash the few details currently known (or being made known). My thoughts and prayers are with the Reservist's family and friends and colleagues.
This follows hard on the heels of the military death and death of the suspect in Quebec two days ago.
Crazy.
This is Canada. Unimportant, quiet little Canada. It's mind-boggling. (Though it should be noted that the motivation for today's "incident" is not known to us at this time.)
Then, just a short time ago, Mom called to say that she and Harry were in a car accident today. Neither is hurt, thank the gods; nor was the other person involved. But the right front of Mom's car is entirely crumpled in and she suspects the car will be deemed totalled. It seems, from the sounds of things, that the fault lies with the other driver, but that's for the insurance companies to sort out. I'm just grateful they're okay.
Poor Mom. But after 53 years with a clean driving record, the Fates probably had her in their sights. I told her that as bad a day as she's had, it was a blessing that it wasn't life and death, as it was in our nation's capital today.
Peace and universal Light to all in need -- and there seems to be a lot of need today.

I'm sorry about your mom. Thankfully, she's OK.
Take care

I am praying for you all. This is a very scary world that we all live in together.
Hug.
I am happy that your Mom and Harry are ok, sounds EXACTLY like my husband's accident a couple of weeks ago. The front of his car was "crumpled"....they DID deem it as being totaled which turned out much better for us. Our insurance company acted super fast, it was two weeks ago and he just picked up his new lease today.
Hoping all goes smoothly for your Mom as well.
xoxo
We hope things are a lot calmer in the future...
