The (Cute) Joke Was On Me This Morning

I was walking from a nearby grocery store to the office this morning, saw a toonie on the sidewalk. (A toonie is our $2 coin.)

I never see more than a rare nickel or dime on the sidewalk, which I typically will ignore, but of course I bent down to pick up $2. Who wouldn't?

Well damned if the thing wasn't solidly glued to the sidewalk!

I burst out laughing, figuring I probably was on camera or some student was in their apartment, keeping track of how many people stopped to pick it up.

It was a silly, fun way to start the day.  :-)

Peace.

I just mentioned this to a couple of coworkers, and they saw it yesterday and did the same thing! Too funny!

Ha! I probably would come back the second day with a paint scraper or some such tool. Two dollars is two dollars.

Nowadays there's hardly any change at all on the street. Whereas it used to be commonplace. I don't blame you at all for tryin to pick it up. But that was funny

Ha, who could pass up 2 dollars and leave it there for someone else to pick up - or, in this case, not!

There is a shop here that has a coin glued to the ground, just for fun. I have seen people try to lift it, get frustrated and then very embarrassed. Ha!

That makes for a good laugh! My mechanic has a quarter like that on the waiting room floor, it makes great people-watching while waiting to get a car repaired.
