Happy Christmas Eve!
A very happy Christmas Eve to all; may your holiday be filled with Light. And with good food and drink, as well as good company too--four-legged and/or two!
Yesterday our "big" boss said the office could be closed today if we wanted to use a half-day vacation for the morning (the university closed at noon), so after a quick debate with myself, I opted to stay home. I even slept in till 5AM this morning!
I had FedEx reroute the Ikea package to work yesterday, because they don't deliver after work hours and don't have a pick-up depot in this city (stupid). Anyway, I got it without problem and one of my co-workers gave me a lift home yesterday afternoon.
All the necessary tools assembled, including a cat to snoopervise!

I also got the package of auction items I'd won from Cheri over at Cats of Wildcat Woods, so Christmas came early yesterday. I was pleased with everything; sometimes it's hard to judge when looking at pics on a blog.
Today we're +9 Celsius and waiting for the rain and high winds. It's a green Christmas this year (except for leftover receding snowbanks from our recent storm).
You can see there's not much snow left in the back space.
Right now Derry's sleeping up on my bed, and Nicki is curled up on my heating pad (lowest setting of course).

If you're ever worried about the heating pad being too hot for the boys, you can cover it with towels. I have several cheap ones I bought on (and under) the heating pad that Kola uses in the parlour, even though it's meant for cats.
And your boss gave you an unpaid half-holiday, too? I like how they are generous enough to allow us to use some of our holidays for time off. Taking an unpaid day off can be done without their permission; it's known as calling in sick.
