Random Musings to End the Week

Golly gee, guess what we're getting this weekend, all weekend and into Monday?

If you said another 25 cms of snow, you'd be right!

I know I bitch and moan and complain every. single. winter. but this is ridiculous. We'll probably end up with as much snow as we had last year, if we haven't yet reached that point, only in a more compressed time frame. Maybe even more snow. Shudder.

I have nothing good to say or write about winters in our region, I just don't. I don't think Nicki and Derry do, either, as it keeps them mostly housebound.

I finally did shovel the back space yesterday, enough to get to the gate in case of emergency. So at least the boys can sniff around a bit if they want to.

The work week has been okay, nothing untoward. I had two physio sessions and things are coming along. Two more sessions next week, then once a week after that, as it will be mainly my compliance with the exercises that moves things along by that point. I hope I get to the point where I can sit, lie down and walk comfortably again. The pain level is improving somewhat, though the constant shoveling and slogging through snow aren't helping.

Oh, while I think of it, an update on Mom's friend B (possible brain cancer) and my co-worker's mom:

First, B does not have cancer. She does have inflammation in her brain and spinal column and still is having memory problems. It's been three weeks since she's been home and she's still waiting for a call to have her next medical test scheduled. She has no one to advocate for her, as her husband isn't a true partner/mate (more convenience relationship) and her adult daughter apparently either can't or isn't inclined to help. So mixed news on that front, the good being this is treatable, though her prognosis is unknown (at least to my mom).

Regarding my co-worker's mom: Great news there, as the new drug she's on is working and the markers for her cancer (in the blood tests) are declining, as they should be. They got the news on Wednesday morning, so it was a good day all round. Thank you for positive thoughts and prayers!

The boys were okay when I left the house this morning, though Nicki's still being fussy about his canned and won't touch any FortiFlora now. It's weird, but whatever. Micro-managing them is exhausting and sometimes I'm simply too tired to do it. Probably just as well! He goes next week for his anal glands anyway, so I'll have his mouth checked out at the same time, and his vitals, to cover the bases. So far (fingers crossed and knock on wood) he's doing really well on the 250 mcg x 2 doses Flovent per day. I hope I've not jinxed it.

And that's that. Mr. Groundhog, could you please bring us this instead of the white stuff?

Take care, everyone. Peace.

That's great that the therapy is helping with your pain. It's also good to hear that Nicki is doing well. It's really sad about B. I used to hear people say that if you don't have kids, you won't have anyone to take care of you or help you in your old age. Although that's ideal, it's not always a guarantee. Thank goodness that she doesn't have cancer and that your co-worker's mom is doing so well. Hang in there with the cold and snow. Spring has to come eventually!

I'm glad to hear your physio and exercise is helping with the pain. Especially with all the shovelling you've had to do recently I am with you I sure wish this winter would end, and I've only had to put up with it for a short time!
Over all it is all GOOD news!!!! (or "better" news at least!) Except for the weather....you have a little more than us, we have more coming......poor Boston and the East Coast is REALLY going to get dumped on AGAIN! xoxo

Well, except for the cruddy winter weather, that seems like pretty good stuff. :) I hear we're getting more of the white stuff again tonight. Ugh. I'm with you ... bring on spring! :)

It does sound like good news except for the weather. The inflammation in the brain is probably better than cancer but it isn't helping if your mum's friend doesn't have anyone in her corner. It must be a lonely fight.
