Another short week for me
Happy Easter Monday, and yes, I'm at work (on my lunch hour, I swear). I'm off Friday and next Monday too, so am looking forward the shorter work weeks.
The weekend was pretty good. Friday was gorgeous, plus 9 Celsius at the airport (near the water), but a few degrees warmer away from the Lake. I had some of the windows open for a little while, first time since last fall, and spent the day doing the house chores.
Yesterday I went to the Easter service at a downtown Anglican church, felt like hearing Easter music. There's an older woman who takes the bus in my neighbourhood and she's a warden and volunteer there, so I decided to check it out. It's a lovely old building, restored, but still has the original 175-year old pews. Ouch. Hard on the butt! And while I grew up in the Anglican church, I'd forgotten how much of the service is prayer.
Anyway, I didn't take Communion, for personal reasons, but went up and asked for a blessing (nice to be able to do that), because I've been so stressed over my leg issues, Mom and Harry, Derry, work, finances. After that I went back to my pew and sat down and bawled. ::Sigh:: It's a small congregation, so I'm sure it was noticed. LOL. Trust me to make a bit of a spectacle of myself. But that blessing meant a lot to me, surprisingly. And I stayed for the lunch afterward, because the woman from the bus invited me (as did others). So it was good to get away from my worries for a bit. That's the trouble with being on one's own all the time (and having mental health issues). Thoughts can prey upon you and make everything seem worse.
On a good note, Derry seems fine now, though he's not getting his regular kibble yet. I'm taking the time to chop it up a bit and he's managing that without problem. I'll give him a few more days before I let him having the regular-sized pieces. He hasn't shown me his pearly whites yet (or what's left of them), and I haven't wanted to pry open his mouth to look, as I've figured he likely still is a bit sore.
Seriously, I'm doing my best to keep my perspective, to take a few deep breaths. Nothing is, at the moment, life and death, and all will work out one way or the other, whether I stress myself into a stroke or just let go and go with the flow. :-)
Peace.

Saturday we were back to winter temps, with a windchill of minus 10 Celsius, and I ventured out, bundled up, only because I needed groceries and cat food. By the time I got home around noon, the next door neighbours had taken off, as it turned out overnight, so I had peace and quiet for the remainder of Saturday and all day Sunday. Hurrah!Yesterday I went to the Easter service at a downtown Anglican church, felt like hearing Easter music. Some face-plant time on Friday afternoon
Freezing out there on Saturday
So other than my ongoing hypochondria/paranoia re: the leg issues (both legs are bothering me now, for different reasons, but I'm following up on Friday with my doctor), continuing concern for Mom and Harry, financial stress, work crap, and general worry, life is great. LOL.Seriously, I'm doing my best to keep my perspective, to take a few deep breaths. Nothing is, at the moment, life and death, and all will work out one way or the other, whether I stress myself into a stroke or just let go and go with the flow. :-)
A good quote for me, from SimpleReminders.com.
That's all the "excitement" here. I really can't take any more "excitement" anyway. Ha.Peace.

I have to admit each time I go to church I end up crying, mostly because it reminds me of mom. I'm sure you're not the first, nor the last to have a moment or two!
Hooray for the noisy neighbours being away even if it was short-lived.
Have a great week!
Glad Derry is doing well.
Terrific you had a peaceful weekend.
Prayers for your Mom and Harry, and for you.
There is something about organ music in church that can bring out one's emotions, especially if you have been worrying. Purrs and prayers for all things to resolve.
